John Krasinski's Reed Richards Gets A Marvel Rivals Makeover In Hilarious Fanart

John Krasinski returns as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, in a new fan art. His character received a Marvel Rivals makeover, which fans found hilarious.

Krasinski debuted as Mister Fantastic in the 2022 movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse Of Madness. He portrayed a variant of Reed from an alternative universe and in the film, he was a member of the Illuminati. His performance received a mixed reaction, with some approving him for the role and others feeling that he failed to capture the essence of the character. There were rumors that Krasinski could portray the character in MCU's Fantastic Four. Apparently, it wasn't the case because Pedro Pascal was cast for it. However, some fans are still not over Krasinski being Mister Fantastic and this is evident in the new fan art.

Boss Logic shared a photo of Krasinski as Mister Fantastic on Instagram. However, he gave the character a Marvel Rivals makeover. In the snap, Krasinski's Mister Fantastic dons the team's signature blue and white uniform with the prominent "4" emblem on his chest. The artist also made Krasinski's beard longer and more prominent and added strands of white hair on each side of his face. He also enlarged his torso to highlight the character's ability to contort his body.

The artwork received thousands of likes from fans. Although many found it hilarious, they approved of it. "Fantaaastic! Hahaa! Ha! Hahaha!" One commented. Another suggested to "give him a comb over," and the artwork would be "perfect." Meanwhile, a different online user said that if the said version of Reed was present in the Multiverse of Madness, he would easily beat Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and the film would be over in a minute. Some also mentioned Pascal's casting as Mister Fantastic in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie because they preferred Krasinski. "He should be playing Reed in the upcoming movie. No hate to Pedro Pascal, but Marvel really blue balled us with this. John Krasinski is a much better pick for the character imo," the fan said.

The fan art featuring Krasinski is just in time because Marvel Rivals was released last month. Mister Fantastic's introduction in the game received mixed reactions from the players, with some finding it challenging to master his abilities and integrate him into the team. However, they also realized that with skillful play and given his unique abilities, Mister Fantastic could be a formidable character. His 51.08% win rate even puts him within the top 10 heroes in the game.

Also, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is coming out in July. Marvel Studios' decision to cast Pascal as Reed received mixed responses from fans. Many were surprised because they expected Krasinski to reprise the role in the Fantastic Four reboot. One even said on X, formerly Twitter, that they couldn't understand why Marvel would not just give the role to Krasinski since he had already portrayed a variant of it. However, announcing a new actor to play Mister Fantastic was not a complete surprise, because Krasinski previously shared that there was no discussion about him reprising the role. His statement sparked rumors that Marvel would recast the character, which was indeed the case.
