Wordle is a simple daily word game that loads of people log into every day to play. While this game had its heyday back in early 2022, it's still pretty popular, and tons of word puzzle fans have tried it. How To Play Wordle
The original version of Wordle is owned and hosted by the New York Times Games. While there are tons of copycats out there, most with their own slightly altered set of rules, these will have a different answer from the one listed here. The only places to play the official version of Wordle are the New York Times Games site and the New York Times Games Crossword App.
In order to play, word puzzle fans should first choose a great starting word. Choosing a starting word can seem a little daunting to new players, but here are a few hints to help picking the perfect starter for today's puzzle out.
- Wordle answers are always five letters long and always real English words.
- Wordle answers are never proper nouns.
- While they can be used as guesses, previous answers to Wordle puzzles cannot be reused.
- While they can be used as guesses, Wordle answers will never be plural nouns ending in S or ES, like FOXES or BEETS.
- Now that Wordle has an editor, answers are usually themed during holidays.
- A good starting word will have five different common letters in it.
Type the starting word into the site. Press enter. The letters of the chosen word will change colors, giving players some clues.
- Letters that become green are right and in the right place or places in the word.
- If a letter turns yellow, it is right but in the wrong position in the word.
- Gray letters are incorrect and won't be in the word of the day.
Given these clues, players need to keep trying new words and getting new hints until they guess the answer or run out of guesses. There is only one word puzzle per day for everyone; this puzzle resets daily at midnight local time.
