Wordle is back today with another mystery five-letter word. Fans of this word puzzle game will log in from all over the world, and many of them will have quite a bit of trouble. Some might be in search of hints, help with the rules, strategy for winning Wordle, or even just the full answer to today's word.

How To Play Wordle

Wordle is one of the many little games available on the New York Times Games site. It was purchased by the newspaper giant back in February 2022, and it can only be seen on the NYT Wordle website and the Crossword app. Other versions will have different answers than what is listed here, and they may have slightly different rules as well.

In order to play Wordle, players will need to start by choosing a word. This word:

Must be five letters long and a real word.
Cannot be a proper noun.
Should not be a plural noun ending in S or ES.
Should not be a previous Wordle puzzle answer.
Should have a good selection of common letters in it.
Can have repeated letters.

Once a good starting word is chosen, type it into the Wordle grid and press enter. The letters of the starter word will then change colors.

Green letters = correct
Gray letters = incorrect
Yellow letters = correct but in the wrong location in the word

Given these clues, players need to keep trying new words and watch their letters change colors as well. Players have six total tries to get to the answer before they lose the game. There is a whole new puzzle every day at midnight local time.
