Wordle is a daily word puzzle game with another challenging word today. Players from all over will be logging into the New York Times Games page in order to try their hand against this difficult word, and some of them might need a hint or the whole answer for today's puzzle.

How To Play Wordle

As a note: Wordle went viral back in early 2022. This popularity combined with the simplicity and versatility of Wordle's rules made it easy to make niche clones and copycats of. So it can hard to know if players are even in the right place. The original version of Wordle and the subject of this article was programmed and published by an indie developer, but it was purchased by the New York Times Games about a year ago. Other versions will have different answers and may have different rules than what is listed here.

In order to get started playing, choose a good starting word. This word:

Must be five letters long and a real English word.
Cannot be a proper noun.
Should be a word with five different, common letters to Wordle puzzles.
Shouldn't be a previous Wordle answer or a plural noun ending in S or ES.

Type this chosen word into the Wordle website and press enter. This will cause its letters to change colors.

Green letters are right and in the right place or places in the word.
Yellow letters are right but in the wrong place or places in the word.
Gray letters are incorrect and won't be in the answer.

Given these clues, try more words and get more clues. Players have a total of six tries to get to the answer before losing the puzzle of the day. Words reset daily at midnight local time, meaning there is only one puzzle per day.
