Logan Paul and Jake Paul are undoubtedly two one of the most controversial figures on YouTube, with the brothers often stirring up trouble. The Paul brothers have used their infamy to help promote boxing matches against other YouTube stars, cutting WWE-style promos and essentially playing the "heels" in the process. Now Jake Paul is looking to do big business with his next fight, which he hopes will be against Soulja Boy.
TMZ Sports met up with Jake Paul in an airport and asked him about his ongoing conflict with Soulja Boy. The TMZ interviewer asked Paul if there is genuine "beef" between him and Soulja Boy, to which Paul responded, "I don't like some of the stuff he's recently done." Paul didn't provide specifics when pressed for answers, though the interviewer asked if the conflict stems from Soulja Boy's comments about rapper Drake or from his line of video game consoles.
"There's just a lot of controversy around him and I think people would love to see him get knocked out," Paul explained, without specifying if Soulja Boy's misguided venture into the video game industry is one of the reasons why he wants to fight him. Paul then added, "And I'm sure people want to see me get knocked out, so I think that's why it would be a big fight." In the video, Paul says he's willing to put up $20 million for the fight to happen.
For those unfamiliar with the Soulja Boy controversy, the rapper entered the video game console market by selling illegal knockoff game consoles loaded with emulated, copyrighted titles. He was called out for this on Twitter, and in his attempts to defend himself, he tweeted some homophobic slurs, painting him in an even worse light.
Soulja Boy's consoles then apparently drew the attention of Nintendo, and the product mysteriously disappeared, only for Soulja Boy to start selling a new handheld that looked strikingly similar to the PlayStation Vita. However, no one can buy the console as Soulja Boy's website appears to have been down for weeks, with some speculating that it has been hacked.
Whether or not Jake Paul's "beef" with Soulja Boy stems from his controversial moves in the video game industry remains to be seen. One thing's for sure, though, and that's considering the success of Paul's previous fight, it's likely that a bout with Soulja Boy would generate a lot of cash.
