A game called Palia was announced just the other day and has been making waves as the gaming community has been comparing the MMORPG to games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, except with more emphasis on multiplayer and social aspects.
The game is being developed by Singularity 6, a team with former Riot and Blizzard developers. While Palia will have some combat and RPG elements, the game is more focused on hanging out with friends and participating in the more "cozy" activities offered in games like Animal Crossing. Players will be able to garden, fish, cook, and even romance some of the game's NPCs. There are many customization aspects as well, as players can create their own characters and decorate their homes.
Is Palia Coming to Switch?
So far, the development team for Palia has been quiet on the platforms that it intends on releasing Palia on. As of the time of writing, it seems the only platform will be PC since that's what the pre-alpha will support, but things can change in the future. Even though Palia seems to be a very deep game with many different mechanics and features, the cartoony art style lends itself well to platforms with less graphical power, like the Nintendo Switch.
If a game like Breath of the Wild could run on Switch without almost any issues, there could be a chance for Palia to launch on Switch, too. The developers have yet to say anything about a potential release on the Nintendo Switch, but there are sure to be more platform announcements as the game's development progresses.
Does Palia Have a Story?
From watching Palia's initial reveal trailer, it may seem to some that the game might not have an engrossing or compelling narrative to follow, but it turns out that there is a deep story in play here. The dev team even promises that the story will continue to evolve for years to come after the game launches and will revolve around humans, which happen to be a legendary race in the world of Palia.

The development team has yet to announce a release date or even a release window for Palia. Still, excited gamers can sign up for the game's Pre-Alpha by heading over to the official website, which will take place sometime this summer. As for other platforms, gamers will have to be patient and wait for more information from the team. Considering the game doesn't have a release timeframe, it could be a long time until the details are shared with fans.
