The industry is buzzing about a forthcoming wave of video game release date delays. One of the first delays being the highly anticipated The Last of Us 2, pushed back indefinitely due to issues with manufacturing, shipping, and retail. PlayStation delayed another game at the same time, however– Iron Man VR is also going to be delayed indefinitely.

Iron Man VR is a PlayStation VR title in which players take on the role of the superhero Iron Man. Developed by indie studio Camoflaj, developers of Republique, Iron Man VR was originally planned to launch on May 25. No new release date has been provided.

Surprisingly, neither PlayStation nor Camoflaj elaborated on the delay. Naughty Dog wrote up a lengthy letter to its community regarding The Last of Us 2's delay, but Iron Man VR's delay was made via a single sterilized tweet. Hopefully, Camoflaj is able to provide an update soon so its fans can find out how the dev team is doing and what its next plans are.

The indefinite delay for both Iron Man VR and The Last Of Us 2 sets an unsettling precedent for Sony's other 2020 plans. While it's understandable that Sony isn't entirely sure when logistics will be working up to 100% capacity again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the lack of a new plan puts a shadow over the PS5's tentative holiday 2020 launch. How far-reaching the COVID-19 delays will be remains a mystery.

Iron Man VR is coming to PS4 via PS VR eventually.
