Hitman World of Assassination developer IO Interactive has announced a big showcase for June 6, with the studio set to reveal new details on some of its biggest properties. IO Interactive and its publisher branch are best known for its numerous entries in the iconic Hitman series, but the studio will also be pulling back the curtain on its highly anticipated James Bond game, which we now know to be titled 007 First Light.
After announcing the project all the way back in 2020, IO Interactive finally revealed 007 First Light to the world earlier today. Although there isn't any official gameplay or cinematics for fans to check out, it looks like further details on the highly anticipated title will be revealed later this week. What has been confirmed, however, is that 007 First Light is a wholly original story created and published by IO Interactive and will be the very first James Bond origin story. More specific details, such as a release date, price, or platforms, are currently unknown.

While fans can expect plenty of announcements pertaining to the likes of Hitman World of Assassination, the studio says it will also be sharing a look at its proprietary game engine, Glacier. IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak says the studio has "prepared some truly exciting surprises" for the event.
After IO Interactive gave away a free Hitman World of Assassination freebie on Steam earlier this week, players will be pleased to know that even more goodies are on the way, as the studio has said that it will be celebrating the franchise's 25th anniversary with new announcements regarding upcoming content for Hitman World of Assassination and collaborations during the June 6 showcase.
It's unclear what will be shown of 007 First Light, but those looking forward to ex-Grand Theft Auto developer Leslie Benzies' MindsEye will be pleased to know that more details on the game will be shared during the event in preparation for its official launch on June 10. The upcoming title is developed by Build A Rocket Boy but will be published by IO Interactive's publishing branch.
