It's rather surprising how much conversation has started around InZOI while it's still in very early access. The life simulation genre has always had very loyal fans, and the almost limitless potential that InZOI Studio promises fans is certainly enticing. Since InZOI launched back in March, its co-current player numbers have been in flux between rough additions and updates. It's clear just by looking at InZOI that the development team has some lofty goals in mind, not letting the shaky start to its early access stop their stride.

The biggest things that are in the cards for InZOI are dedicated multiplayer and a Nintendo Switch 2 port. Multiplayer in a competitor to The Sims would be a game-changer for those looking for a new life sim game to play. While these titles don't particularly translate well to consoles through their menus and reliance on a mouse, the Switch 2 has features that might help InZOI thrive when it fully launches. In fact, Nintendo's upcoming console could help raise InZOI's potential online features to new heights with what it offers.

InZOI's Future Multiplayer Could Be Right at Home on Switch 2

Just like many early access games before it, InZOI's developers have been open about what they have planned for the foreseeable future. The idea of an early-access game finding its way to console isn't anything new, but there's an important benchmark that has to be realized first. InZOI will likely only find its way to the Switch 2 once primary development is complete.

InZOI will likely follow in The Sims' footsteps and get updates and expansions after launch, but there are a few features that would help it bounce back from its rocky start if it was added sooner. Multiplayer in particular could be the factor pushing it above The Sims for many players, so it would make sense if it was high on the priority list compared to others. Considering the rough state InZOI is in for now, multiplayer may need a lengthy development window before it comes to early access, if at all. If the developers keep multiplayer for launch specifically, though, then the Switch 2 experience will likely be made even better with GameChat.

How InZOI Could Be Made Better With the Switch 2's GameChat

The multiplayer focus on the Switch 2 is such an important feature to it that there's a designated physical button for players to access GameChat right away on the Joy-Cons. In a way, thanks to the edge it would give the simulation game over the competition, this is something both the console and InZOI have in common. There would be a lot to gain with InZOI adding multiplayer sooner rather than later, but saving it for launch specifically would make it easy to take advantage of the Switch 2's GameChat assets. Instead of having to work out calling friends on a different service to play on PC, everything would be built-in for Switch 2 players in a way that would elevate the experience.

Being able to join an easy-to-use voice chat to help coordinate Zoi meet-ups or building and designing a living city together sounds like a dream come true for fans of the life simulation genre. Any difficulties of trying to find each other or understand what one person wants to add could be fixed with how GameChat easily allows players' games to be shared during the call. The sheer convenience of what's already built into the Switch 2 avoids the frustration some players might feel when using other apps to call, where screen-share features may take some extra work to set up, among other technical difficulties that could get in the way.

The idea of InZOI working well on the Switch 2 relies on GameChat's features working at least as well as advertised. The screen-share feature looks to be a bit choppy in terms of frame rate in the Direct they were announced in, and that doesn't take into account any players with slower internet speeds. Like InZOI's tricky early access period, as well as its possible length, players will just have to see how GameChat works for themselves and form their own thoughts. If all goes according to plan for InZOI Studio and Nintendo, then InZOI's multiplayer may end up being the icing on the cake for those patient enough to get the game on the Switch 2.
