InZOI Sleepwalking Incident Ends in Disaster

An InZOI player's recent gaming session provided a rude awakening after they discovered their Zoi's sleepwalking habits had resulted in the booking of a very expensive unscheduled vacation. Fans are still discovering everything InZOI contains in terms of its early access content, but the sleepwalking mechanic has been proving a humorous nightmare for some players.

The early access release of InZOI on March 27, 2025, showed a huge level of interest from fans of the life simulator genre, with the game registering more than 87,000 concurrent players at its peak and going on to sell more than a million copies in its first week. Though player numbers have taken a significant dip since launch, the developers have plenty of additional content planned on the road to the game's full release, and many still see Krafton's life simulator as the first real threat to The Sims 4's decade-long reign at the top of the genre.

A lot of players who are taking a break from InZOI have indicated that they feel they've seen all its early access launch content has to offer, but one mechanic players may not have had much experience with is sleepwalking. For one player who posts on Reddit under the username abidoang, their character's recent fit of restlessness resulted in the Zoi automatically going to the computer and booking an all-day cruise on a luxury yacht. While all Zois in InZOI have values, traits, and desires that guide their actions, the sleepwalking mechanic is throwing a lot of randomness into players' experiences, which is also helping them to see more of what the game has in store.

There are currently three cities in InZOI with at least five more coming down the pipeline, but none of them feature a yacht that players can see or interact with in any way. Due to this unfortunate early access omission, the player said that their Zoi simply jumped into a taxi cab and disappeared for the entire day, meaning the Zoi's vacation also meant time spent away from the player controlling them. A couple of other players in the comments reported a similar incident occurring, noting that the impromptu trip caused their Zois to miss work unexpectedly. A few others have mentioned their sleepwalking Zois' charitable nature, which has put them into debt from donating more money than they have.

While occurrences of sleepwalking seem to be dependent on how often Zois dream, other bizarre behavior in the game can be attributed directly to its player base. There have been reports of players kidnapping children in InZOI and running them over with cars, using exploits that see them pulling off major crimes with no in-game consequences.
