He is also responsible for a breakout series called Invincible, which caters to the superhero genre and has recently become a smash-hit animated series. Invincible follows Mark Grayson on his unconventional journey to becoming the greatest superhero ever to live.
Invincible: Strongest Characters in the Comics
The Invincible comic series harbors characters with immense powers, and the strongest of them rival their animated show counterparts.
At the 2025 Xbox Live Showcase, a fighting game set in the Invincible universe was announced, introducing a team-based experience for fans. While a small portion of the roster has been revealed, there is a long list of characters who should also make the cut. Here are some characters who should definitely be featured in Invincible VS.
8 Shrinking Rae
The Perfect Compact Punch
- Playstyle: Mix-Up
After the original Guardians of the Globe were replaced, Shrinking Rae became a new addition to Rudy's team. Shrinking Rae was one of the more well-adjusted members of the new team and possessed the power to manipulate her size, retaining some of her proportionate strength, similar to Ant-Man.
Invincible: Best Episodes, Ranked
With Invincible's bombastic Season 2 officially coming to a close, this is a look back on the best episodes of the Amazon Prime's superhero series.
Shrinking Rae would make an excellent addition to Invincible VS, and it's possible that she could also be one of the most interesting characters in the game. She could be a character who can shrink and make herself immune to specific attacks like grapples or beams.
7 Powerplex
Unrivaled Power That Gets Stronger As His Health Gets Lower
- Playstyle: Mix-Up
Powerplex offers one of Invincible's most tragic villain origin stories; he has a pure reason for hating Invincible that pushed him over the edge. As a surviving victim of the fight between Invincible and Omni-Man, Powerplex lost his wife in the chaos.
Coincidentally, Powerplex worked for the government and secretly stole enhanced technology that would boost his power, allowing him to take out Invincible. He can absorb kinetic energy and become stronger in the process, making him an ideal character to have access to super armor, which he could use to defend against some combo-heavy fighters that may appear in the game.
6 Allen The Alien
An Incredibly Strong Alien With Evolving Powers
- Play style: Dominating
Allen the Alien is a fan favorite in the Invincible series. He was a liaison of the Coalition of Planets and first encounters Invincible in a fight to test his level of protectiveness for the council. Since his first appearance, Allen has undergone drastic changes after being nearly killed by a group of viltrumites.
The trauma to his body pushed it to evolve, making him stronger, more durable, and more capable of fending off even some of the strongest viltrumites on the show. Allen would make a perfect bruiser character, similar to the Hulk or The Thing, having access to powerful blows and possibly even a grapple or two.
5 The Mauler Twins
A Perfect Combination Of Brains And Brawn
- Playstyle: Pressure
The Mauler Twins are a fan-favorite eccentric duo of villains in Invincible that have been wreaking havoc on the show since their very first appearance in Season 1. They are clones who are constantly at odds with one another about who is the original, neglecting the fact that whenever one of them dies, they are immediately cloned, so there's no way to tell if either one is actually the original or not.
The Mauler Twins are highly combat-capable, possessing enhanced strength and durability, along with a highly advanced intellect that enables them to create weapons of mass destruction. They would likely prove to be a great tag team for Invincible VS while also serving as a unique character archetype, providing two fighters for the price of one.
4 Cecil Stedman
The Man In Black
- Playstyle: Trapper
Cecil is a prominent character in the Invincible series who leads the secret sector of the government-funded division that oversees planetary protection. He is in charge of keeping track of heroes and villains, making sure neither steps out of line.
Cecil is an incredibly capable combatant with a keen mind and an endless budget. He has stared down Omni-man, Invincible, and entire invasions and never even blinked. As such, he would make for a great gadget or trap character, similar to Faust in Guilty Gear Strive or Ibuki from the Street Fighter franchise.
3 Battle Beast
The Unrivaled Menace Of The Series
- Playstyle: Rush Down
Battle Beast is a villain who needs no introduction and has garnered a lot of attention since his initial debut. He is the prideful white lion who craves action and violence, seeking out powerful prey whenever and wherever he can. Battle Beast has faced numerous characters in the Invincible series, both heroes and villains, and he holds no quarter for his adversaries.
6 Most Shocking Deaths In Invincible Season 3, Ranked
The third season of Invincible had no shortage of blood and violence. Here's which deaths had fans' jaws on the floor.
As a fearless warrior, Battle Beast has nearly crippled Invincible, killed multiple viltrumites, and even survived the vacuum of space. In an Invincible fighting game, Battle Beast is a must-have who needs to be a combo-focused menace of the roster.
2 The Immortal
An Unkillable Force
- Playstyle: Dynamic
The Immortal is a constant presence in the Invincible series; he is an incredibly powerful being who can't die. While it is possible to stop The Immortal from functioning by severing the connection to his brain, he can always come back to life if the connection is repaired.
Invincible: 8 Characters the Show Made Better
Despite the brilliant similarities between characters from the Invincible comic to the show, the latter does make some improvements.
The Immortal has lived for thousands of years and fought in hundreds of conflicts, making him a lethal fighter. While he is not comparable to viltrumites, he is capable and would make a great addition to the Invincible VS roster as a character who, after specific prerequisites are met, could come back to life if defeated.
1 Monster Girl
A Hulking Mass Of Fury
- Playstyle: Bruiser
Monster Girl is a popular character in Invincible who would likely have an interesting playstyle in Invincible VS. In the series, Monster Girl has a curse that allows her to transform into a formidable behemoth at the cost of regressing in age.
While in this form, Monster Girl gains access to super strength, durability, and slight regeneration abilities. An interesting approach for Invincible VS to take would be to give the character a build-up meter, allowing her to transform and be incredibly overpowered for a time, similar to Phoenix in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.
