Invincible fans should be happy to hear that the creator, Robert Kirkman, has more content in store for the Amazon Prime Video series.

Part of what makes the Invincible series beloved by so many fans is that it stays faithful to the source material. The animation style is nearly identical to the comic art style. The story and the dialogue are almost the same as the comics, except for some minor differences that help surprise and interest fans who already read them. Fans of the comic will know that the first season covered little, and there is still a lot more to be explored in future Invincible seasons.

In an interview with Polygon, Kirkman was asked how many seasons Invincible would need for him to cover the whole comic. Kirkman said he doesn’t want to settle on a specific number, as things change constantly. “I think in the seven-to-eight-season range seems like it would be enough,” Kirkman continued. “But there could be some things we move through a little faster, some things we expand. If we’re fortunate enough to go for a good long time, I think that would be enough to cover the entire comic.”

Kirkman also added that he wanted to do more stories that he wanted to put in the comics but ended up cutting. “There are some things along the way that didn’t get into the comic that I’d like to do. I think it’d be cool to have some episodes here and there that are completely original. So that’s part of the plan moving forward.” This gives fans hope to see some brand-new stories.

This is fantastic news for Invincible f ans. Whether they read the full comic book run or have only got into it through the show, fans will love what Kirkman has in store for them in the upcoming seasons of the show. Fans who have read the comics will hopefully get to see their favorite Invincible story arcs. They can also expect some original content that didn’t make it into the comics.

It is great to hear that Kirkman has an ideal plan for how the series will go. With the possibility of 8 seasons, fans will see more of Omni-Man, Mark, and other characters from the comics in future seasons. However, Invincible has only been renewed up to season 3, so it will be up to Amazon if they decide to renew the series long enough for Kirkman to cover everything from the comics.

Invincible season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 3, 2023.
