Ubisoft has officially announced a new Invincible video game based on the popular comic book-turned-cartoon. The name of the game is Invincible: Guarding the Globe, and it probably isn't what many fans would have expected. Rather than an action game, an adventure game, or even a tactical RPG, Ubisoft has partnered with Skybound comics to make an Invincible free-to-play mobile idle RPG. Invincible fans that also love free-to-play mobile games now have a game to look forward to.Invincible is a comic book written by Robert Kirkman with art from Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. It's well-loved for providing a grittier, more violent take on superhero adventures. While the Invincible comic book has always been popular, it exploded into new levels of popularity with the release of an animated adaptation on Amazon Prime Video. A second season of the Invincible cartoon is expected to be released in late 2023. In preparation for the release of Invincible season two, it seems that some cross-media synergy is being prepared. Ubisoft is working with Skybound, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman's entertainment company revolving around his and other comic work, to create a new Invincible video game. Invincible: Guarding the Globe is described as a free-to-play idle RPG made for iOS and Android devices. It's planned for release "soon," though players can pre-register now to receive special rewards.
