Uncharted and The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog has had a unique project in the works for some time now, and it was finally revealed at the 2024 Game Awards just before the ceremony concluded. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is an upcoming action-adventure game set in a retrofuturistic universe thousands of years in the future, where players assume the role of Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on the planet Sempiria, which has been isolated from outside contact for over six centuries. Apart from its setting and some minor details about its premise, however, very little is known about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, although the rest of its details aren't even its biggest mysteries.

Troy Baker Has Been Confirmed as a Part of Intergalactic's Cast

One of the most prolific talents in the video game industry, Troy Baker, has been confirmed as a part of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet's cast, and he was actually confirmed to play a role in the game ahead of its 2024 Game Awards reveal. While the project was not given a title or any other information at the time, Troy Baker's involvement in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet was confirmed in November 2024, when Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, mentioned the actor's participation in the game during an interview with GQ last November.

Most recently, Troy Baker played the role of Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and it was arguably Baker's best performance ever. The actor was not only able to deliver an uncanny vocal impression of Harrison Ford from the Indiana Jones movies, but he also nailed Ford's expressions and movements for what truly feels like one of the most authentic representations of Indiana Jones in video game form. Apart from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Baker is known for playing other major roles, like Joel Miller from The Last of Us and Higgs Monaghan from Death Stranding, as well as characters like Snow Villiers in Final Fantasy 13. Needless to say, his upcoming performance in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is likely to deliver.

For starters, it is highly unlikely that Baker will be playing an insignificant role in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, in light of the hype surrounding confirmation of his involvement and his glowing resume. It could be that Baker will be playing a villain in the game, just as he did with characters like Higgs Monaghan in Death Stranding and Pagan Min in Far Cry 4. However, Baker has been known to play characters who are more difficult to define as "hero" or "villain" due to their complexity, and that could be the case in Intergalactic. Regardless, it can only be assumed that Baker's role in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will be both noticeable and major, in light of his reputation and the mystery currently surrounding his character.
