As players unlock the characters that they can field in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road's Chronicle and Competition Modes, they will notice that they come in different rarities, from Common to Hero. While players will ultimately fill their teams with primarily Legendary characters, they can field two Heroes, who are extremely strong, at a time. This guide explains how players can get Heroes in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, and they should definitely look to add those characters to their teams when they are acquired.

It is possible to upgrade a character in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road from Common all the way up to Legendary. However, it is not possible to earn a Hero through this type of enhancement.

How to Get Heroes in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road

Player Universe

The Player Universe is a feature within Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road's Chronicle Mode that allows players to repeatedly exchange five Bond Stars for 12 character spirits. Those characters are grouped into constellations, which appear when visiting the Player Universe, and players can see all the characters that can be earned from a constellation by selecting it and pressing the Available Characters input that appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. As players peruse the lists of Available Characters, they will see that each constellation has a very small chance (0.5%) of awarding Hero character spirits.

For the uninitiated, spirits can be converted into players through the Spirits tab within the Team Bank menu. Once a spirit has been converted, the associated player can be found in the player bank at the bottom of the Team Bank menu, and they can be added to a team from there.

As such, one way to earn Heroes is to repeatedly spend Bond Stars on constellations, and players can look for the constellations that have a chance to award the Heroes that they are interested in by using the constellation search feature. That said, since the chances of receiving a Hero are so low, players will likely need to spend a lot of Bond Stars before they see one. This guide to getting Bond Stars in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road details how to earn that currency, and here is a summary of the options that are available to players:

  • Go to Competition Mode and compete in ranked and lobby matches online. Those matches award five Bond Stars upon completion, regardless of if you win or lose.
  • Win Rare Drop and Hero Battles in Chronicle Mode. These battles are unlocked by winning a node's preceding battles, and they have a chance to award one or two Bond Stars at the end.

Hero Battles

Players can earn Hero spirits by winning the aforementioned Hero Battles in Chronicle Mode. Again, players will need to win a node's Chronicle, Route Unlock, and Rare Drop Battles before they can try a Hero Battle, and they will need to have access to a squad that is capable of defeating Level 51+ teams if they hope to come out of them victorious.

To see the Heroes that can be earned from Hero Battles, players should hover over a Hero Battle that they have unlocked and press the Check Drop Rates input that appears at the bottom of the screen. This will also reveal just how low the chances are of receiving a Hero spirit, and players should be prepared to participate in a ton of Hero Battles.

Spirit Market

Finally, players can purchase some Hero spirits from the Spirit Market, which is accessed from the Marketplace on the main menu. More specifically, players should take these actions to see the Heroes they can buy:

  1. Select Marketplace from the main menu.
  2. Click on Spirit Market.
  3. Navigate to the Spirits tab.

To note, purchasing Heroes from the Spirit Market requires quite a lot of Legendary spirits. As such, it is recommended that players take a look at the shop before they start converting Legendary spirits into characters, as they may want to save some of those spirits for a particular Hero.
