With the simultaneous releases of Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons  dominating the internet during widespread self-isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic, there has been a hefty amount of crossover art between the disparate titles. American rapper, actor, and producer Tracy "Ice-T" Marrow has clearly chosen to side with id Software's latest Doom game, and has been actively talking about his experiences with it on Twitter.

While this sounds like a silly grievance to air upon first viewing, the concern is not totally unfounded. A month before Doom Eternal was released, the game's creative director Hugo Martin told Gamesindustry.biz that it would have more platforming and movement than Doom (2016). For some players id Software may have cranked things too far in that direction, but for the most part it seems to not have drastically overhauled the core game that fans love.

This is not the first time that Ice-T has been active on Twitter talking about his love for video games. The man has a passion for first-person shooters especially, and said in a tweet on March 19 that he has been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Destiny 2, and The Division 2,  which recently received its Warlords of New York expansion. In that same tweet he mentioned his intent to download Doom Eternal, which prompted an affirmative response from the game's official Twitter account.

With the demon-destroying action game out for a few days now, fans are thoroughly combing the experience for everything they can — both good and bad. Some fun bits being pulled out of the game include a returning reference to James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day in which Doomguy gives a thumbs up before sinking into lava.

However no doubt the biggest source of Doom Eternal content online right now involve its crossovers with Nintendo's lazy life simulation game, such as a video featuring Animal Crossing characters playing heavy metal with Doomguy. As players like Ice-T continue to grind away, no doubt this kind of content will continue to surface for some time.
