Quartzite is a type of stone block in Hytale that can be used as a building material for houses and bases. It is a relatively uncommon block in the game, only spawning in very specific biomes and zones.
For players looking to obtain a large quantity of quartzite for their base building project, knowing where to find this material is crucial. This guide covers all Quartzite spawn locations to give players a clear idea of where to go and what to look for.
How to Get Marble in Hytale
Marble is a type of stone block in Hytale required for making the Light Temple building blocks. Here is where to find it.
How to Get Quartzite in Hytale
There are five locations where you can find Quartzite in Hytale:
- Spawn Room
- Emerald Grove Ruins
- Howling Sands Shores
- Crystalline Depths
- Devastated Lands
Spawn room
The start of every new playthrough of Hytale begins in a spawn room made out of Quartzite blocks and other materials near the Forgotten Temple. The blocks found in this location are mineable, just like any other area in the game, making this the earliest possible way for players to get their hands on some Quartzite.
Emerald Grove (Zone 1) Ruins
In Emerald Grove (Zone 1), you’ll find small ruins and enemy strongholds occupied by Skeleton soldiers and other enemies. These structures are made up of Quartzite and Quartzite building materials. On the map, look for signs of small ruins. These can be hard to spot without fully zooming in, but they have a distinct shape that makes them recognizable (shown above).
Quartzite building materials cannot be smelted back into their base ore at a Furnace.
Howling Sands (Zone 2) Shores
Large amounts of Quartzite deposits can be found in the shallow oceans bordering the beaches of the Howling Sands (Zone 2) region in Hytale. These deposits are found underwater, near the shores, and typically exist alongside other ores like Calcite, Stone, and sometimes Gold.
Crystalline Depths
Quartzite blocks can be found in the Crystalline Depths, in the deep ocean. These deposits can emerge as small pillars from the ocean floor, as a lining along the ocean wall, or in deep recesses. Due to the depth at which these deposits are found, you can’t easily mine the ocean floor for this material. Focus on the deposits found on the ocean walls instead.
To breathe underwater, dig sideways into the wall, then dig up two blocks to create a pocket of air.
Devastated Lands (Zone 4) Underground Jungle
Most instances of Devastated Lands (Zone 4) have a unique underground jungle mini-biome filled with tropical islands, dinosaurs, and glowing pink trees. Quartzite can be found in this biome along the walls or in the form of pillars. It is typically found high above the ground in this location, meaning players have to build custom platforms to get to it.
How to Make Quartzite Building Blocks
Quartzite obtained through mining turns into Quartzite Cobble in Hytale. Quartzite Cobble can be processed at a Builder’s Workbench into stairs, walls, floors, doors, and other building materials that can be used to build a base.
The process is fairly straightforward. First, build a Builder’s Workbench and place Quartzite Cobble into the Input section. Select the building material you want to obtain from the offered options, and the material will be instantly deposited in your inventory. If you only want to change Quartzite Cobble into pure Quartzite, select the Quartzite icon in the Input section (directly above Cobble) to transform the material.
Quartzite Cobble can be transformed into Quartzite at a furnace by burning fuel as well. However, this method consumes resources and takes time, whereas the Builder’s Workbench method is free and instant.
