Marble is a type of stone block in Hytale required for making the Light Temple building blocks. It is one of the most aesthetically pleasing building blocks in the game, and the go-to choice among white-colored building blocks in the game.

Marble is a relatively common material in Hytale, but one that is easy to miss. It only spawns in one specific mini-biome in large quantities. This guide covers the exact location where Marble deposits can be found, as well as how to convert raw Marble into usable building blocks. Here are the details.

While there is no standard glass block in Hytale, it is possible for players to make their own glass bottles and windows for their builds.

How to Get Marble in Hytale

Marble Location

Marble can be mined from Marble and Chalk quarries in the Emerald Grove (Zone 1) in Hytale. These are locations with massive, white stone pillars composed of marble and chalk blocks. On the map, look for mountainous regions and rocky landscapes in the Seedling Woods biome to find these marble quarries. If you spot gray rocks or mountains, it means you’ve found the correct location.

chalk vs marble in hytale

Marble and Chalk are often confused for one another since both have similar appearances and are found in the same quarries. Marble is slightly darker in color and has more defined patterns on its surface. Chalk, on the other hand, is closer to pure white, and the etchings on its surface are more muted in color. The screenshot above shows the differences in texture between Marble and Chalk.

How to Convert Marble Cobble into Marble

When you mine Marble quarries, you will obtain Marble Cobble, an unrefined version of Marble. There are two ways to turn Marble Cobble into pure Marble:

  • Using a Furnace
  • Using a Builder’s Workbench

Using a Furnace

Place Marble Cobble inside the Furnace under Input, and turn it on after inserting some fuel. For every 2 pieces of Marble Cobble you put in, you’ll obtain 1 Marble.

Using a Builder’s Workbench

Open the Builder’s Workbench and drag and drop the Marble Cobble in the Input section. Two Marble Block selections will appear under Input: one is Marble Cobble, and the other is Marble.

Click on Marble (the one on the top) and all Marble Cobble will instantly be converted into Marble. Now, you can either build using this material or drag and drop it into your inventory to gain pure Marble instead. This process can be used in reverse as well.

In the current version of Hytale, both Marble Cobble and pure Marble can be used interchangeably at the Builder’s Workbench, with no difference in output. This might change in future updates.

How to Fix Cracked Marble Bricks in Hytale

If you build using Marble Bricks, you’ll notice that a crack in the wall appears inside the bricks randomly. This is by design. The Marble Brick block has natural cracked patterns that appear when it is placed alongside other Marble Bricks. There is nothing you can do to change that.

For unblemished Marble walls and pillars, use Marble Brick - Smooth instead of Marble Brick. These blocks do not crack like the non-smooth variant, no matter how many of them are placed together.
