There are three ways to delete items in Hytale:

Throw items away in the overworld.
Use a Salvager’s Workbench.
Use the Trash Can Mod.

Throwing Items Away

If you place an item in the overworld in Hytale and do not pick it up again, it will disappear from the world after a certain amount of time has passed (real time). With this method, you can simply throw away items you don’t need or tools that have run out of durability in any location and forget about them.

From our experimentation, it takes 8-10 minutes for an item to despawn when in the overworld. This includes mined ore as well, meaning if you destroy an ore block and the ore drops to the ground and you do not pick it up for 10 minutes, that dropped ore will disappear after the time has passed.

Using a Salvager’s Workbench

If you have a tool that you are no longer need, simply place it in the Salvager’s Workbench, and it will deconstruct the tool into its base materials, refunding some of the crafting materials that were used to make the item. The Salvager’s Workbench only works for crafted tools, weapons, and armor; raw materials cannot be destroyed.

So, if you place a Crude Pickaxe in a Salvager’s Workbench, you will obtain some Rubble, Plant Fiber, and Sticks in return. This is the best way to get rid of old, broken tools you no longer need.

Use the Trash Can Mod

If you’re comfortable installing mods in Hytale, the Simply Trash mod by Jaredlll08 adds a Trash Can block to the game that can be used to destroy any item easily and efficiently. It is by far the easiest way to get rid of unwanted trash.

With the mod installed, use 20 Iron Ingots to craft a Trash Can from your Workbench and place it in the overworld like a chest. Place any item you want to delete in the Trash Can and close it. When you open the Trash Can again, all items inside will be gone forever.
