Drywood is a special type of wood required to upgrade a Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 7 in Hytale. There are only two types of trees that provide Drywood Logs, neither of which can be found in the starting area of the game.
This guide provides players with detailed information about which types of trees turn into Drywood as well as which biomes to find them in Hytale. Luckily, these trees are fairly abundant and easy to find if you know where to look.

Where to Find Drywood
There are only two types of trees that can be chopped down using a Hatchet to obtain Drywood in Hytale: Dry trees and Bottletrees. Both Dry trees and Bottletrees can be found in Howling Sands's Golden Steppes biome (Zone 2), the desert area of the game. Either can be used to upgrade the Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 7.
Dry Logs
Dry trees have patterned brown bark and light yellow leaves. They are relatively thin, with single-block wide branches and tree trunks that aren’t too wide. Dry trees sometimes have light green vines growing on their tree trunks that need to be chopped down before the bark underneath becomes visible.
Deserts are also home to Gumbaob trees, whose logs qualify as Lightwood in Hytale. These can easily be identified by their extremely thick tree trunks that are 10-15 blocks wide.
Bottletree Logs
Bottletrees have light gray bark with black patterns and light green leaves. They have a very similar structure to the Dry trees, with thin tree trunks and few branches, though they also come in a stunted variety, with trees that are only 4-8 blocks tall.
Bottletrees are bugged in the current version of Hytale, and chopping them down yields Birch Logs instead of Bottletree Logs. This bug is likely to be fixed in a future update, but currently, there is no way to obtain Bottletree Logs without giving them to yourself in creative mode.
