Ahead of its November 6, 2025 launch, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has just revealed two new playable characters: a charmingly feisty Korok, and a familiar-looking mechanical Construct. These two new additions add even more diversity to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment's roster, which is already teeming with colorful characters.

Announced back in April alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is the third Musou game set in The Legend of Zelda universe. Unlike the two entries that came before it, however, Age of Imprisonment is confirmed to be a completely canon prequel, one that sees players take control of Zelda, the Sages, and a handful of other powerful allies as they fight against Ganondorf in the Imprisoning War.

On October 24, 2025, Nintendo and Koei Tecmo released a new trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonmen t. Clocking in at just two minutes, this trailer succinctly sets up Age of Imprisonment's story while giving fans a good look at the game's sizable roster of Hylian and Hyrulian heroes, and what they can do on the battlefield.

The two standout characters from the most recent Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment trailer are Calamo and the Mysterious Construct. According to Nintendo, Calamo is "a boisterous Korok wandering Hyrule in search of a place to put down roots," while the Mysterious Construct is simply described as someone "who can transform and take to the skies." Given the character's rather generic description and its close resemblance to Link, it's likely there's more to this Mysterious Construct than meets the eye.

With Calamo and the Mysterious Construct now officially confirmed to be playable heroes, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment's roster has hit at least 11 characters. The current roster for Age of Imprisonment includes the following characters:

  • Zelda
  • Rauru
  • Sonia
  • Mineru
  • Agraston (Sage of Fire)
  • Ardi (Sage of Lightning)
  • Qia (Sage of Water)
  • Raphica (Sage of Wind)
  • Lenalia (Zelda's maid)
  • Calamo
  • Mysterious Construct

Several other characters have been spotted in previous Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment trailers, but it's currently unclear if they'll be fully playable on the battlefield. For instance, this latest trailer shows a Zora warrior fighting alongside Qia. It's unconfirmed if players will get to control this Zora warrior themselves, or if it's just an NPC fighting alongside the player-controller Sage of Water.
