Ever since the start of the Succession Contest arc in Hunter x Hunter, the fans have been introduced to the Kakin Empire’s Mafia families, and three stand out among them as the most important and powerful in the empire – the Xi-Yu family, the Cha-R family, and the Heil-ly family.
The Heil-ly family in particular has been the source of trouble for many characters in this arc, such as the Phantom Troupe, and the other mafia families. Made up of 23 members including their boss, Morena Prudo, fans should expect to see more of them when Hunter x Hunter returns from its Hiatus.
6 Yokotani
Yokotani acts as the lawyer and legal advisor of the Heil-ly Family. He was one of the members who guarded the entrance of their base and protected it when Hinrigh Biganduffno and Nobunaga came in. He, alongside the others, was able to drive them out. His current level is 27.
His ability is quite powerful but needs conditions to be met to be activated. This ability, called A Battle of Wits (LSDF), belongs to the Conjuration type and is activated after he introduces himself, and its power depends on the crimes committed by his enemies. While this ability cannot cause harm, it’s perfect to keep the base safe.
5 Souffle
Souffle, a woman with a calm face and straight hair, is quite a mystery as not much is revealed about her so far in the story. She hasn’t gotten the chance to play a major role yet. However, her Level in the Heil-Ly family, 28, would indicate that she is quite capable.
She was seen doing a recon on Room 3101 from Room 3131 after being ordered by Morena. Being a hacker, it’s fair to assume that her nen ability, which is known to be of Transmutation type, will probably have something to do with technology.
4 Padaille
Padaille, alongside Quorolle and Tevelares, are the characters that attacked Hinrigh Biganduffno, the underboss of a Xi-Yu. Their plan was to make it a 3 vs 1 fight to overpower him. However, due to their bad luck, Hinrigh is not one to go down easily and this resulted in Padaille’s untimely demise.
Before he died, however, fans got a good look at his nen ability, Fistful of Weapons. This ability is a Conjuration type nen power that allows him to turn his right hand into different weapons. In his fight against Hinrigh, fans saw him turn it into a hammer, an ax, and a drill. He was of level 29 but will probably be replaced by someone else now that he has succumbed.
3 Sodom
Sodom appears to be a powerful asset inside of the Heil-Ly Family and someone whose strength and nen powers will become more apparent when the story resumes. He is the member of the family tasked with capturing one of Tserriednich's personal soldiers, Morena Prudo, as she plans to use her nen ability, contagion on them.
Sodom used to work as a back alley doctor, which would insinuate that he has medical knowledge and is, therefore, essential for taking care of injuries inside of the family. His nen ability, which is currently unknown, is of the Manipulation type. His level is also currently 31.
2 Dogman
Dogman is one of the Heil-Ly members who will grow most in relevance as the story progresses. He seems to hold a position of underboss inside of the family which is proof of his strength and potential. Morena directly tasked him to find what she is looking for. He is currently on level 36, but Morena tells him to prioritize leveling up to 50, which would put him above her level, as she is level 45. At level 50, it’s fair to assume Dogman will unlock more powerful abilities.
Readers know that Dogman’s nen type is Enhancement and he is a pro wrestler. While his ability remains unknown, it’s fair to assume he can pack quite a punch. He will probably get some action when the manga returns.
1 Morena Prudo
Morena Prudo reigns supreme inside the Heil-Ly Family as their boss and leader. She is the illegitimate daughter of the Kakin Empire's leader, King Nasubi. As a consequence of not being a legitimate child, her face was scarred. She was allowed to live if she never showed herself in public. She was originally just a simple member of Heil-Ly, but she established herself in such a commanding manner that she took over it. She made the members fight to the death until only 22 remained standing – constituting the current Heil-Ly, as readers know it.
What makes Morena stand out from the rest is her nen ability, Contagion. Its type is unknown but it could be assumed to be either Manipulation or Specialization. This ability allows her to infect up to 22 people with her saliva. When this happens, the members “level up” whenever they kill someone, which makes them increase in power. Morena is currently at level 45, which is the highest in Heil-ly.
