In the world of manga, few series have ever reached the level of fame and popularity that Togashi’s masterpiece, Hunter X Hunter, has managed to achieve, despite its hiatuses. Hunter X Hunter has been on a long hiatus since 2024, but the series' return date might now be closer than ever.
Togashi’s recent update has revealed that Chapter 419 of Hunter X Hunter is finally completed, which means he only has one more chapter to go until the next batch of chapters is ready. This means that Hunter X Hunter could be returning in the next couple of months, and fans are definitely excited for the continuation of the Succession War Arc.
Hunter X Hunter Could Be Returning Soon After A Long Hiatus
Togashi Finishes HxH Chapter 419
Yoshihiro Togashi is one of the biggest names in the manga industry, and that is in big part due to his hits Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter. Yu Yu Hakusho ended decades ago, but Hunter X Hunter is still ongoing. Evidently, the series is facing some issues. Hunter X Hunter's main problem is the constant and long hiatuses. Thankfully, now, it seems the series could be returning to Weekly Shonen Jump very soon.
Togashi has been quite active on his X social media handle (@Un4v5s8bgsVk9Xp), and there, he has been posting updates about his work every once in a while. Over the last few months, Togashi seems to have been working hard on Hunter X Hunter.
Most recently, Togashi has revealed that he has completed the work on Hunter X Hunter Chapter 419. Of course, this is fantastic news for all the readers of the story, because Togashi tends to drop Hunter X Hunter chapters in a batch of 10 chapters. Last time, two years ago, the batch was also 10 chapters long, covering chapters 401 to 410. Now, the next batch should span from chapter 411 to 420. This means that Togashi has to complete just one more chapter for the series to be able to return to Weekly Shonen Jump.

Hunter X Hunter Doesn’t Have A Confirmed Return Date Yet
-
While Hunter x Hunter is returning soon, an official return date has yet to be confirmed by Weekly Shonen Jump as of yet. Togashi still has to complete the final chapter, and that could take him a bit longer, and given his current pace, a month seems to be a solid estimate. With that in mind, it seems that a very realistic return date for Hunter x Hunter is 1-2 months from now. More information concerning the return of HxH should be revealed once Togashi is done with the current batch.

New Hunter X Hunter Chapters Will Continue The Succession War Arc
Togashi Will Highlight Fan Favorites like Chrollo and Hisoka
Fans are very excited for Hunter x Hunter's manga return in 2026. At the moment, the series is going through one of its most exciting arcs to date since the Chimera Ant arc, and that is the Succession War arc. This arc kick-starts the expedition that will allow the main cast to finally reach the Dark Continent. However, that trip is still a long way from being completed.
Amidst this travel on the Black Whale, a Succession War is ongoing for the princess of the Kakin Empire. This arc features some incredible new characters, like Morena Prudo, a major new villain. Some of the princes are especially captivating, like Tserriednich and Halkenberg, who are both taking major spotlights.
The Succession War Arc also reintroduces some old but beloved characters, mainly Kurapika, who is acting as the protagonist of this arc in Gon and Killua’s absence. Chrollo and the Phantom Troupe, as well as Hisoka, are also fully involved. This arc has only been getting more exciting, and fans can't wait to see what Togashi has in store for them in the next 10 chapters.
Hunter x Hunter’s upcoming 10 chapters will definitely feature more casualties among the Princes, and probably an escalation of the events leading to the climax of this arc. It's unlikely to see the conclusion of this segment of the story in the next 10 chapters, and this arc could be on-going on for years to come, based on Togashi's current pace.
In Hunter x Hunter, young Gon Freecss discovers his long-lost father is a legendary Hunter, an elite class of adventurer with the license to go anywhere or do almost anything. Determined to find him, Gon sets out to pass the Hunter Examination, a life-threatening challenge that draws hundreds of hopefuls seeking fortune, fame, and adventure. Along the way, Gon becomes friends with other candidates, including the vengeful Kurapika, the ambitious Leorio, and the enigmatic Killua. Together, they face a world filled with bizarre creatures, sinister criminals, and unpredictable adventures.
