2001: A Space Odyssey

It's a movie, one of the best of all time, and it's extraordinarily creative. I give the researcher a 1 out of 10.

2001 is to film as a symphony is to music .... and let's face it, today most people have never sat through a symphony. Even in 1968 that would be true, but not as much as today. That is why as time goes on, fewer and fewer will appreciate 2001 as compared to when it debuted. It can't be rushed, which unfortunately is the mode of today. Films and music are continuously either action or loud. Anything that is thought provoking or not quick to the point is considered boring or lame. Too bad.

2010 is a worthy successor.
