The Lynx is the second anti-materiel rifle in Battlefield 2042, and it's free for everyone to use. This.50 caliber sniper rifle punches through light materials, people, and armored vehicles alike, and it is the only semi-automatic weapon in the game so far that can do so.
This weapon is a welcome addition to any sniper's arsenal in Battlefield 2042. This guide includes how to get the Lynx rifle as well as a short overview of the weapon's pros and cons.

Here are a couple of tips on how to more efficiently grind for those account ranks and battle pass tiers in Battlefield 2042.
Getting the Lynx in Battlefield 2042
The Lynx was part of the big update that added the classic BFV Iwo Jima map to BF2042, and if you played any of the Battlefield 6 Open Betas before the game's release, then this weapon should be automatically added to your inventory as soon as you start the game. If you didn't participate in the BF6 Open Beta, then you'll need to wait for the Lynx to become obtainable through other means (likely through weapon challenges). We'll add the requirements here soon once they're available.
As of writing, many players have reported issues with claiming the Lynx in Battlefield 2042. This appears to be related to an issue on the developers' side. It's unclear if this issue will get resolved before the Lynx becomes unlockable for everyone. If you're experiencing this problem, make sure that the account you used to play the BF6 Open Beta is the same as the one you play BF2042 on.
How Good is the Lynx in Battlefield 2042?
The Lynx feels more like a Marksman Rifle than a Sniper Rifle. It has the one-shot capability of the latter (provided players can hit headshots), but since it's a semi-auto weapon, players can use this to two-tap enemies with body shots. Also, since the Lynx is classified as an anti-materiel rifle, it can be used to damage armored vehicles, much like the NTW-50.
However, the Lynx has a number of issues. First, its projectiles are slow and heavy, which means you need to compensate more for range and your target's horizontal movement. It won't feel quite as snappy as BF2042's other weapons.
Second, the Lynx's visual recoil is intense. This balances the gun's strength as a semi-auto sniper rifle, as you'll have to spend a bit of time reorienting your aim in order to hit a follow-up shot.
Lastly, the gun's reload and ADS speeds are extremely slow. It feels extremely sluggish, which may feel bad for some players who are used to other weapons.
Also, some players have reported that the Lynx's accuracy is terrible. Shooting the weapon while standing causes its shots to veer off center. Whether this is a bug or not is unsure, but in our testing, the gun shoots perfectly straight while lying prone or when using the BCG Light Grip.
