If you’re not already impressed by the Ultra graphics preset in Star Wars Outlaws, don’t worry — you can take the visuals one step further. Just like the well-hidden “Unobtanium” Graphics Preset in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Outlaws also features a secret graphics preset, aptly named “Outlaw.”

Unlocking Outlaw Graphics Preset in Star Wars Outlaws

To unlock the hidden Outlaw graphics preset, follow these steps:

Open Ubisoft Connect: Formerly known as Uplay, this is where you'll start.
Locate the Game: Find Star Wars Outlaws in your library, then right-click on it.
Access Properties: Hover over the “Manage” option and click on “Properties.”
Add Launch Arguments: Ensure you are on the General tab, then locate the textbox under “Add launch arguments.” Enter the following command exactly as shown, without any quotation marks:

-unlockmaxsettings

Save and Close: Click "Save" and then close the window.

Now that the hard part is over, here's what to do next:

Open the Game.
Go to Settings.
Navigate to Graphics.
Select the “Outlaw” Graphics Preset: Use the Quality option to choose "Outlaw."

Performance Impact of Outlaw Graphics Preset in Star Wars Outlaws

The hidden “Outlaw” preset is hidden for a reason — it has a significant impact on performance. During our testing with an AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE at 1080p, the frame rate dropped from 59 FPS on the Ultra preset to 25 FPS on the Outlaw preset.

Much like the “Unobtanium” graphics preset in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the Outlaw setting is primarily intended to future-proof the game. For high-end players, the Ultra setting should be more than sufficient, and for most players, the optimized setting will offer a great experience.

The Outlaw preset is best suited for those looking to capture stunning shots in Photo Mode or for future players with GPUs significantly faster than those currently on the market. Even an RTX 4090 struggles to maintain 60 FPS at 4K or even 1440p with this preset. However, if you happen to have a 4090 and play at 1080p for some reason, you might just push past the 60 FPS mark in Star Wars Outlaws using the Outlaw preset.
