The deserts of Dune: Awakening are harsh, but players can retreat to various settlements to get a break from the scorching sands and stock up on valuable equipment, sell unwanted goods, or meet trainers to unlock new skills. These settlements are only accessible via ornithopter, though, and Dune: Awakening doesn't explain where to find ornithopter pilots very well.

If you want to complete the "A Wider World" quest in Dune: Awakening, you'll need to seek out one of these ornithopter pilots and visit either Harko Village or Arrakeen. Either settlement counts for the completion of this quest, but you'll find yourself visiting one more often than the other after you swear allegiance to a house. You can even get your own ornithopter eventually, but for now, you have to talk to an ornithopter pilot to travel to other parts of Arrakis.

Ornithopter Pilot Locations in Dune: Awakening

Ornithopter pilots can be found at every tradepost in Dune: Awakening. You'll get the journal entry for "A Wider World" as soon as you visit your first tradepost—most likely Griffin's Reach in Hagga Basin South—and the first step is to talk to a nearby ornithopter pilot so you can travel to a settlement. It seems simple enough, but the problem is that there's no objective marker to guide you to the local ornithopter pilot, and the game doesn't exactly tell you what separates these pilots from anyone else in Griffin's Reach.

Thankfully, ornithopter pilots are pretty easy to spot once you know what to look for. Ornithopter pilots are typically found near merchants in the sheltered parts of the tradeposts in Dune: Awakening. They will be standing in front of blue ornithopter holograms, which is the easiest way to spot one. If you talk to them, they'll take you anywhere you want to go on Arrakis for 2,500 Solaris. You have to have these Solaris physically on you in order to pay the pilots, so any money deposited in your bank account can't be used unless you take it out beforehand.

For the "A Wider World" quest, you only need to visit one of the two major settlements in Dune: Awakening to meet the requirements. There's a lot more to learn once you arrive at either Harko Village or Arrakeen, however, so take some time to walk around and familiarize yourself with all the vendors and services on offer. Keep an eye out for advanced trainers in these settlements, too, so you can unlock more skills.
