A simple change to the Resurrection F Arc results in a domino effect that heavily alters the Goku Black Arc, resulting in the creation of a new villain: Gohan Black. This terrifying foe, while not playable at the time of writing, is at the heart of Gohan's Sparking Episode, so here's how to unlock it and how it works.

How to Unlock Gohan's Sparking Episode "The Strongest Warrior" in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero_Gohan Sparking Episode 2

To unlock this Sparking Episode you'll need to play the mission "Defend Earth from the Freiza Force!" In the canon version of this sequence, Gohan struggles greatly against Freiza and is eventually injured, forcing Goku and Vegeta to return to Earth and intervene.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero_Gohan Sparking Episode 1

To begin Gohan's Sparking Episode, "The Strongest Warrior", you need to fight Freiza much more effectively than Gohan did in Canon. Use your evasive techniques and guard, fire off Super and Ultimate Attacks, and make sure that Freiza doesn't get any room to breathe while you whittle down his health. Do this, and you'll start down this alternate path and fight off Freiza's forces as Gohan. Doing this sets off a chain of events where Gohan gets serious about his training much sooner and participates in the Universe 6 Tournament arc. This, in turn, results in Zamasu taking notice of Gohan and eventually selecting him instead of Goku when switching bodies for his Zero Mortal Plan.

This spiral of consequences results in the Goku Black Arc becoming the Gohan Black Arc, with Gohan and Trunks battling Zamasu and Gohan Black with assistance from Goku and Vegeta. This changed sequence of events also results in Gohan learning, and successfully utilizing, the Evil Containment Wave to trap Zamasu. With Fused Zamasu defeated through the combined efforts of Trunks and Gohan's Masenko and then sealed away with the Evil Containment Wave, Trunks' Future is again safe and Gohan returns to his family.

Sadly, Gohan Black is not currently an unlockable character, though he seems to share much of his moveset with Adult Gohan and Ultimate Gohan.
