XP is used to unlock hundreds of skills across multiple skill trees in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. While each skill tree has its own specific type of XP, there's also All-Purpose XP, which can be used across all the skill trees and can be earned through the activities you do every day. The skill-tree specific XP will also be earned naturally as you use specific weapons or engage in certain activities. In this guide, I'll explain the best activities to focus on every day to get XP fast in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma.

Rune Factory has been rich with installments, but some entries in Marvelous' JRPG franchise are better than others.

How to Get XP Fast in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma

The flow of XP in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is relatively slow, with players only getting small amounts of XP for doing different activities. However, I have found that there are a few ways you can boost your daily XP earnings.

  • Tend to Your Crops Yourself
  • Walk as Much as Possible
  • Fight High-Level Monsters as Much as Possible

Harvesting Crops Is Great XP Value for the Time Investment

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma allows players to automate a lot of the farming mechanics in the game by assigning villagers to the job. However, they aren't very good at it, you can make growing crops far more efficient, and it won't take you much time to get it all done each day either. While villagers will water, harvest, and replant crops, they take ages to do it. They also won't plant the same types of crops together, reducing your chances of getting giant crops that can sell for around 10x the sale price of their regular counterparts.

Instead, you can go around watering, harvesting, and replanting your crops, and use your Drum Dance to help them grow faster every day in about 5-10 real-life minutes. Not only does this then mean you can assign villagers to other tasks that they can't screw up, like mining and logging, it also means you can get a good amount of XP every day for such a quick and easy activity to complete.

Focusing some time on farming every day is also the easiest way to make money fast, perfect for getting all those gear upgrades.

Walk as Much as Possible

While fast traveling is the best way to get around if you're looking to progress through the main story quickly or to get from one village to another, if you're looking to grind out XP, walk/ run around each village when you're busy ticking off chores or exploring the wilderness beyond the outskirts of each village to get extra crafting materials. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma rewards XP for simply traveling by foot, and it's consistently been one of the highest XP-earning activities I've completed each day.

Fight High-Level Monsters and Jump Into Combat Regularly

Another way of regularly earning good amounts of XP is through combat. The open world areas of each village are the perfect place to farm XP from combat in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, as there are plenty of enemies roaming around these areas. I also found that replaying boss fights would net me good amounts of XP from combat each day. By fighting challenging monsters and not letting any enemy go by without defeating them, you'll also be earning a good amount of XP for the skill tree specific to that weapon, which can net you a lot of stat boosts and make you more efficient with that weapon, too.

The game doesn't explain how the amount of XP you earn from something like combat is calculated, but in my experience, the more you fight, and the higher the level of the enemies you defeat, the more experience you'll get each day.
