Omni-Tool is one of the best additions to Grounded 2, as it eliminates the hassle of carrying an axe, shovel, wrench, and hammer separately. The hammer, in particular, is an essential tool for breaking down rocks and other hard objects to harvest resources from them. However, if you want to acquire mid-game to late-game resources like candy in the game, you'll need to upgrade it to tier 2. Here's how to get that upgrade.
How To Get An Axe (And Chop Grass) In Grounded 2
To get the Omni-Tool axe and be able to chop grass and get items like Plank and Dry Grass Chunk, Grounded 2 players must find a Ranger Outpost.
How to Get the Omni-Axe Tier 2 Upgrade in Grounded 2
Players can upgrade their Omni-Hammer to tier 2 only in the current early access version of Grounded 2, with more tiers to be available with future updates. The upgrade will let you bust up more complex types of rocks and harder objects to get mid-game crafting resources, making it an upgrade to get early on. Here are all the resources required to get the Omni-Hammer tier 2 upgrade.
- 1x Ladybug Head
- 3x Lingonberry Leather
- 2000 Raw Science
Unlike Blueberries, players will require a tier 2 Omni-Axe to chop up Lingonberries. So, make sure you've got it upgraded before trying to upgrade the Omni-Hammer in Grounded 2.
How to Make Lingonberry Leather (Lingonberry Location)
Players can find Lingonberries on the west side of the Pinic Table in Grounded 2. After climbing up a higher ledge, you'll have access to rows of Lingonberries on high-up plants, and you'll need to shoot them down with a bow.
Once a Lingonberry drops, you can chop it down with a tier 2 Omni-Axe to get Lingonberry Chunks from it. Make sure to keep an eye on hostile spiders in the area, which will attack you if you're spotted. You can process the Lingonberry Chunks at a Workbench to craft Lingonberry Leather to use for the Omni-Hammer level 2 upgrade.
How to Get Ladybug's Head
Ladybugs are relatively common bugs that you can easily spot roaming around the starting area. They aren't hostile towards players, but attacking them will start a battle to the death. Make sure to use a combination of melee weapons and shields to fight the Ladybugs, as they don't have any harmful AOE attacks.
Once a ladybug is down, you can harvest it for a chance to get a Ladybug's Head. You may need to beat a few ladybugs before you can get a Ladybug's Head in your inventory. After getting one, run back to a Ranger Station and spend 2000 Raw Science to upgrade your Omni-Hammer to tier 2 in Grounded 2.
