Grounded 2 allows players to have an Omni-Tool, which acts as a hammer, shovel, wrench, and even an axe. Axe is a useful tool for all your chopping needs while resource farming, and you'll get the tier 1 upgrade for it pretty early on. However, getting the tier 2 upgrade can be a little, as you'll need to farm some mid-game resources and battle tough insects to get the required materials.

How To Get An Axe (And Chop Grass) In Grounded 2

To get the Omni-Tool axe and be able to chop grass and get items like Plank and Dry Grass Chunk, Grounded 2 players must find a Ranger Outpost.

How to Get the Omni-Axe Tier 2 Upgrade in Grounded 2

Omni-Axe Tier 2 Upgrade Grounded 2

Omni-Axe Tier 2 is the maximum upgrade players can acquire in the current early access version of Grounded 2. The upgrade lets you chop down more complex plant life and harvest higher-tier resources used to craft mid-game equipment. To craft the upgrade, you'll need the following items.

  • 2x Roach Chunks
  • 2x Blueberry Leather
  • 2000 Raw Science

These items aren't the hardest to find, but fighting a cockroach can be tough if you're not equipped. Make sure to wear the best armor you have with good physical defense, and carry both a bow and melee weapons with you to have versatility in the fight.

How to Make Blueberry Leather (Blueberry Location)

To find Blueberries in Grounded 2, players can visit the Blueberry farm just south of the Ice Cream Cart area. If you're visiting this location for the first time, you'll be contacted by an unknown figure and will have to fight off an O.R.C. Bee before you can get your hands on the berries.

You can use your bow to nail down the bee mid-flight as it'll try to hone in on your location to attack with its stinger. If your ant buggy is kiting it away from you, use your melee weapons to land charged attacks while its back is turned.

Once the bee is down, feel free to shoot down the Blueberries from their branches and chop them up to get Blueberry Chunks. You can process these chunks on a Workbench to craft Blueberry Leather.

How to Get Roach Chunks

Fighting a Cockroach Grounded 2

To get Roach Chunks, you'll have to battle either the bigger Cockroaches or the smaller Cockroach Nymphs. The battle can get tough or easier depending on the quality of your equipment. The battle with bigger Cockroaches may lead to phase two, where it decapitates its own head and roams around the area.

After dealing with the Cockroaches, you can harvest their bodies to get Roach Chunks. Now you can visit the nearest Ranger Station to get the Omni-Axe tier 2 upgrade in Grounded 2.
