When progressing through the storyline in the caves of Moria, players have two options to get Hide. This guide will cover both the easy way, which is available at the beginning, and the harder one, which requires players to craft special items that can be used to make Hide in LOTR: Return To Moria. Since Hide is so important, players will want to make sure they get some as soon as possible.

To get straight to the point, here are a few ways players can use to get this valuable resource:

Kill Large Animals

Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria

The first way to get Hide is to kill larger animals, such as Cave Bears or Hriwara. This method is more accessible to players in the early game, as it can be done in the first area they start their adventure in Moria Caves, namely in Western Halls. Once players are in this location, they will find the creatures that they need to kill to get Hide. However, obtaining this resource using this method is still quite tough in the early game, as despite the decent number of animals in the area, they only drop about one to two Hide per one.

The second way to get Hide is to craft it using a Loom, using Hide Scraps and Resin. This option will be available to players later when they complete the storyline to the end of Western Halls and reach The Crystal Descent. This Descent will need to be repaired, after which it will be possible to slide down to the next area, The Lower Deeps, where gamers will be able to mine Resin from the caves.

In addition to Resin, they will receive another reward - Loom. After that, gamers will need to get Hide Scraps, which are much easier to get compared to Hide, as it can be looted from smaller animals, such as Wolves. To craft one Hide, players have to collect 10 Hide Scraps and one Resin. Although this method is only available after some progression in the game, it is still more efficient, so that’s what fans are recommended to aim for.

Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria is available on PC. The PS5 version launches on December 5. The Xbox Series X and S version is coming in early 2024.
