Players have many ways they can start their journey in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, with one such option being to join the Mages Guild. There are 7 Mages Guild buildings, and players can tackle them in the order they feel fit. Each of these will have a different quest relating to them.

Players that go to Bruma will need to speak with Jeanne Frasoric, who will then ask players to find a missing member of the guild named J’Skar. There are recommendations that players will need to complete at each of the Mages Guild buildings. Here are the numerous ways players can locate J’Skar and report back to Jeanne.

How to Find J’Skar in Oblivion Remastered

While players are told that J’Skar has gone missing, he actually has not left the Mages Guild building. Walking around the guild will allow players to discover a blurry figure that moves throughout it. This blurry figure is J’Skar, who has turned himself invisible. However, trying to speak with him will have him brush the player off. Players will not even get a chance to engage in a dialogue exchange with him.

In order to find J’Skar without leaving the building, players can speak with Volanaro. This NPC will have a job for the player to complete. Upon doing so, he will help them expose J’Skar. After speaking with Volanaro, players will need to use Speechcraft to raise his disposition to its max. Afterward, they can exhaust his dialog options.

Make a Quicksave before continuing, otherwise you may risk being suspended from the Mages Guild. Players can atone, but it is less time-consuming to just make a save.

Players will be tasked with stealing a book called Manual of Spellcraft from Jeanne Frasoric's desk. This book can be found by heading upstairs, going into Jeanne Frasoric’s room, and taking it from her desk.

Pass time until it is just before 10 PM and speak with Volanaro again and inquire about J’Skar. This will reveal him. Players can now go and speak with Jeanne Frasoric to get the Bruma recommendation.

How to Get Dispel Other in Oblivion Remastered

While some players may have no problem with being a thief, others might not be comfortable stealing from Jeanne. These players can undo the spell on J’SKar themselves. This involves them casting the Dispel Other spell on J’Skar. If players do not yet have this spell, they can buy it by heading over to the Leyawiin Mages Guild.

Spells can get pricey, so be sure to pickup and sell plenty of loot.

One inside the Leyawiin Mages Guild building, speaks with Alves Uvenim. They will have many spells for sale, including Dispel Others. However, players may not yet have their Mysticism high enough to cast it. In which case, players can also buy Detect Life from Alves Uvenim. Players can spam casting Detect Life to raise their Mysticism Skill.

They can also use this skill to find J’Skar once they return to Bruma.
