As you explore the colorful world of PEAK, you’ll find all kinds of food lying around. Every climb you make and every jump you take drains your energy, and eating is how you get it back.

Scouts will find two kinds of food in PEAK: packaged items and forageable things, like berries and mushrooms. Packaged food, like granola bars and energy drinks, is always safe to eat. But the forageables? Not so much. Some of them can poison players if they are not careful. One of those is Napberries. So where do you find them, and are they even safe to eat? Let’s talk about it.

How to Get Napberries in PEAK

You can only find Napberries in the Alpine biome. That’s the third area in PEAK, so players will need to make it through the Shore and Tropics first. It will take a bit of climbing to get there.

Napberries don’t grow in the same place every time. The map changes daily, so their location will be different with each reset. We found them in caves, but their location can be different for you. Napberries are easy to notice because of their bright purple color and crescent-moon shape. Since the PEAK map resets every 24 hours, you can return to the same place during other runs on the same day to grab more Napberries.

What Do Napberries in PEAK Do?

napberry effect peak

Napberries do exactly what they sound like. They make your character fall asleep the second you eat them. It might seem funny, but it can actually be dangerous. If you are in a tricky spot or have low HP, taking an unexpected nap could totally ruin your run.

That doesn’t mean Napberries are useless, though. In some rare situations, they can actually help. Eating a Napberry clears all your negative effects, so if you’re carrying bad status effects and on the verge of dying, eating a Napberry might be worth the risk. If your character wakes up, you will be free of those effects. But honestly, these are really specific cases. Most of the time, it’s better to avoid eating them unless you’re desperate.

If you are trying to collect badges, there's one called Foraging that asks you to eat five different kinds of berries. Napberries count toward that, so eating one will help you progress. But make sure you’ve got a teammate nearby who can revive you, because there’s a good chance the player will pass out right after eating it.
