Cheat codes have always played an important role in Rockstar Games' titles, providing players with a range of buffs and bonuses that can completely change the flow of the game. The same is true of Red Dead Redemption 2, which many consider to be one of the greatest narrative-driven video games ever made.
Although cheat codes can't really be used to progress through the main story, they can be useful for those looking to blow off a little steam. Some Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat codes can only be entered after finding certain newspapers, but most can be activated at any time via the Cheats menu.
Updated April 11, 2024, by Tom Bowen: Whether players are looking to get infinite health or turn Arthur into one of the richest outlaws in the Wild West, RDR2 cheats can be a great way to liven up a playthrough. Of course, cheating will make it impossible for players to earn single-player Trophies or Achievements, though, given that the game has now been around for more than half a decade, there's a good chance that most of the people still playing it have long since finished with the main story and are now just looking to have a bit more fun. Assuming that's the case, Red Dead Redemption 2 cheats are the perfect way to do so. Below, players can find every single one of them, as well as step-by-step instructions on how to redeem RDR2 cheats in-game.
As in many other modern games that include cheat codes, activating RDR2 cheats will make it impossible to unlock single-player Trophies and Achievements or save the game.

How to Enter Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheats
Entering RDR2 cheats is a relatively straightforward affair, with players simply needing to pause the game, enter the Settings menu, and then press either the Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) button. Doing so will bring up the Cheats menu, from which players will be able to enter any of the above Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat codes; again, by pressing either the Triangle or Y button to bring up the on-screen keyboard. After entering a cheat code once, it will be permanently unlocked, allowing players to toggle the cheat on and off from the Cheats menu any time they please.
As mentioned above, certain Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat codes can only be activated once players have obtained a certain newspaper. Although some codes are unlocked by multiple newspapers, players are better off sticking to The Saint Denis Times, which can be purchased from the newspaper vendor in the state of Lemoyne. More issues of the paper will gradually become available as players progress through the main story, though only eight of the fourteen available have cheat codes associated with them.
