Neople has officially launched the demo for The First Berserker: Khazan, and it certainly delivers. The prologue demo is now available on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X. This demo gives players a glimpse of the game’s world and offers a hands-on experience with its combat system.
This is good because players who are not keen on pre-ordering can try the demo and decide for themselves whether they are interested in playing the whole game or not. Here's how long the demo lasts and whether saved data carries over to the full game upon release.

The First Berserker: Khazan Demo Length
Players can expect to spend between two to four hours on the demo, depending on their playstyle and the difficulty chosen. The demo begins in Mount Heinmach, where players encounter numerous soldiers as the game introduces the controls. After progressing past the small Yetis and monkeys, players will face the first boss, marking the end of the tutorial and allowing them to select a difficulty level. The next area, Stormpass, features its own challenging boss at the end. Upon completing the Trials of Bantu and defeating the final boss, the game transitions to a Blade Nexus, which leads back to the title screen, signaling the end of the demo.
The demo can be replayed multiple times, giving players the opportunity to refine their skills and adapt to the combat system of The First Berserker: Khazan. It offers three unique weapon choices, each with its distinct playstyle. Additionally, there is a skill tree for each weapon, enabling players to explore and experiment with new abilities in combat. One standout feature is the currency system: Lacrima, used to upgrade stats, is relatively easy to acquire. Unlike other soulslike games, players earn Lacrima proportional to the boss’s health they manage to reduce, even if they fail to defeat it.
Does Save Data Carry Over To The Full Game In The First Berserker: Khazan
Yes, your saved data from the demo will carry over to the full game upon release. Whether you choose to rush through the demo or take your time exploring, collecting items, and leveling up, all your progress will transfer. This provides a strong incentive for players to grind a few levels, making the early sections of the game much smoother when it launches in March. It's a great way to get a head start while familiarizing yourself with the mechanics.
