Fleshmobs are the big, writhing lumps of meat that players will regularly fight when facing the Illuminate in Helldivers 2. They may have no armor whatsoever, but their health pools are so incredibly high that even direct hits with Recoilless Rifles aren't enough to take them down.

One Fleshmob isn't much of an issue, but packs of three or more can send entire squads scrambling for safety. Thankfully, as beefy as they are, they aren't immune to the best weapons in Helldivers 2. If you're looking for a loadout that can deal with Fleshmobs and the rest of the Illuminate, here are a few suggestions to consider.

Best Ways to Kill Fleshmobs in Helldivers 2

Helldivers WASP Fleshmob lock

If you want to take a Fleshmob out as quickly as possible, then your best option is the WASP Launcher, a Support Weapon that fires homing rockets. On average, around four mini-rockets from this should be enough to kill one, and considering how quickly the WASP Launcher shoots, Fleshmobs will fold in about a second or so (assuming all the rockets hit).

Other good Support Weapons include:

The reason we recommend the WASP over the rest of these is simple: it's also an excellent weapon for taking out Illuminate Interlopers and Harvesters. If stationary reloads and splash damage bother you, the AMR is a fine alternative.

What About Primary and Secondary Weapons?

Helldivers 2 Crisper vs Fleshmob

Fleshmobs have very high health, and unless you can hit the many faces on their body (marked by their blue, glowing eyes), your best bet is to use an explosive weapon. Good options include:

Compared to traditional ballistic weapons, these are much more efficient at taking down Fleshmobs. The AoE on their projectiles can be a problem at very close ranges (especially with the Eruptor and Crossbow), but if you can play around that, these weapons are amazing on the Illuminate front.

It's also worth noting that fire is very effective against Fleshmobs, so you can expect the SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary and the SG-451 Cookout to work well against them. Due to the high spread of the former, we more strongly recommend using the latter. This should make hitting smaller enemies like Elevated Overseers easier.

On a related note, the P-72 Crisper is a good sidearm to bring if you want a dedicated anti-Fleshmob weapon. Empty a fuel tank into one, and walk away. The Fleshmob should burn to death while you're doing something else. The FLAM-40 Flamethrower and FLAM-66 Torcher can also yield the same result, but they usually aren't worth sacrificing your Primary and Support Weapon slots over.
