The health system in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 operates differently from other games. Your overall vitality is divided into two components: Health, represented by the red bar in the top-left corner, and Armor, displayed as smaller white bars just below the Health bar.
The number of white Armor bars varies depending on the difficulty level you're playing. Both Health and Armor can be regained through unique mechanics.
When taking damage, your Armor is depleted first. Your Health only starts to decrease once all your Armor bars have been exhausted.

How to Recover Health in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Recovering health in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is challenging, as it doesn't regenerate after combat. However, there are several ways to restore your health.
When you take damage to your Health bar, a white bar appears and slowly recedes toward the red bar's location. This temporary white bar represents the health you can recover by dealing damage to enemies, whether by shooting or using melee attacks. Performing Finishers on enemies recovers a large portion of this white health bar.
Another way to heal is by using Medicae Stimms, consumable items that restore a moderate amount of health. You can carry up to two Stimms at a time, so it’s best to save them for emergencies.
A more reliable method of health recovery is through Titus's Righteous Fury ability. This ability not only increases Titus’s damage output and makes him harder to kill, but it also regenerates your Health bar, providing an additional advantage when the ability’s timer expires.
Additionally, progressing through the campaign will occasionally restore your health, typically after cutscenes. Health also replenishes when you respawn, so taking the hard way out can reset your health to maximum.

Regenerating Armor in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is simpler compared to Health. For one, your Armor automatically regenerates after a short period of being out of combat. However, you can also recover Armor while still engaged in battle.
Executing finishers on enemies will restore some of your lost Armor bars. The amount of Armor regained depends on the difficulty level you're playing. Additionally, performing gun strikes on enemies also grants a small amount of Armor recovery.
Another way to regain some health and armor is through being revived by your fellow Space Marines when you're down. So, even if you fall in battle, don’t lose hope — your brothers are there to get you back on your feet and back into the fight.
