One of the biggest puzzles in the game revolves around the locked watchtower in Svartalfhein during the “Weight of Chains quest.” Unfortunately, the game does not spell out where the key is, but it does inform players that it is in the Bay of Bounty. Keeping this in mind, this guide will provide step-by-step instructions on how players can get the watchtower key in God of War Ragnarok, along with other useful information.

Where and How to Find the Key to the Watchtower?

Players can get the key to unlock the watchtower in the Bay of Bounty by following these simple steps:

  1. Head to the dock under the watchtower and use the boat to head to the dock on the northeast side of the island.
  2. Wait for Mimir to confirm whether the player has reached the correct island.
  3. Destroy the fire pots in the path and follow the route.
  4. Climb the ledge and destroy some more firepots that block the path.
  5. Hang and climb on the ledge and then look for the breakable floor.
  6. Interact with the spin wheel and drop the elevator.
  7. Freeze the gears using the Leviathan Axe.
  8. Hang on the ledge once more and climb right towards the elevator.
  9. Recall the Leviathan Axe to unfreeze the gears to cause the elevator to rise.
  10. Smash through the room below and defeat the monster guarding the chest.
  11. Open the chest to find the key to the watchtower along with Hacksilver and XP as rewards.
  12. Return to the watchtower to unlock it using the key to start “The Hateful” boss fight.

Now, players should be able to find the watchtower key, which is most important for players who wish to platinum the game.
