Dream Glimmer is one of the harder resources to get in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, and it just so happens to be one of the most important ones for upgrading characters too, later on in the game. Thankfully, there are quite a few ways to get Dream Glimmer, but if you don't want to spend any of your other resources for it, you'll need to get it the old-fashioned way.
Fully-maxing out any character in Umamusume will require players to get a ton of Dream Glimmer. This guide covers all the ways to get this resource, as well as some tips on how to make the grind a little easier.

How to Farm Dream Glimmer in Umamusume
Dream Glimmer is a rare resource that's normally obtained as a reward for winning the URA Finals race, which means you need to train an Uma well enough to make them a champion by the end of their career.
Winning the URA Finals in Umamusume is a lot easier said than done. Some players can snatch victory through sheer luck, but for everyone else, careful planning is required. Your trainee will have a lot of hurdles to overcome on the way to the URA Finals, and the championship race itself will prove to be the biggest one.
URA Finals Tips
- Make sure to train your character according to their preferred racing style.
- Take time to familiarize yourself with all the races your Uma will have to compete in during her career.
- If you don't have good Legacies available, you can always borrow one from another player before starting a career run.
Other Dream Glimmer Sources
If you really want to get some Dream Glimmer but are struggling with the URA Finals, there are a few other ways to get some:
- Dream Glimmer can be purchased at the in-game shop for Cleats.
- Missions and limited-time events may have Dream Glimmer up for grabs.
Cleats can be obtained by converting unwanted Support Cards. You can do this by going to Enhance > Support Cards > Storage. Since Support Cards are mainly obtained by pulling in Umamusume's Scout banners, it's best to treat this method as a last resort.
Missions and events will likely be your second-best bet at getting Dream Glimmer. However, missions/events that give such rewards aren't always available, so while you won't need to spend resources or participate in any race that's too difficult, these aren't the most reliable sources of Dream Glimmer.
What is Dream Glimmer Used For?
Dream Glimmer is an upgrade material that's used to level up the Potential of your characters. You'll need 2 Dream Glimmer to go from Potential 3 to Potential 4, and you'll need even more if you want to go from Potential 4 to Potential 5. Increasing the Potential of your Umamusume will unlock upgraded innate skills for them.
