Talioth are Bird Wyverns in Monster Hunter Wilds that are classified as Small Monsters. These still count as the game's Endemic Life, but they don't pose a threat that comes close to that of the Large Monsters that you'll hunt down throughout the story.

Where to Find Talioth in Monster Hunter Wilds
You can only find Talioth in the Windward Plains, the first major zone of Monster Hunter Wilds. We've managed to find them traveling in groups around Area 8 and Area 11.
If you use the filter option on your map, you can find Talioth on the list of monsters. Doing this will basically show you exactly where they are on the map. Just hit the left/right buttons on the directional pad when the map is open.
If you seem to have issues finding more Talioth after slaying a couple, feel free to rest using your BBQ Spit or a Camp to rest and change the time of day. This will reset the environment and bring you more monsters to fight.
How to Get Talioth Scales in Monster Hunter Wilds
You have a 70% chance of getting Talioth Scales by carving. You can check out the other drops in the table below.

RationIt's worth noting that you must take on a Low-Rank quest if you want to find Low-Rank Talioth. But if you're already in High Rank and seeking High-Rank Talioth, you don't need to change anything.
Quests That Give Talioth Scales in Monster Hunter Wilds
If you want the simplest method for finding Talioth (either in Low Rank or High Rank), you can speak to Alma (or head to your base camp) and take on one of two Optional Quests:
- The High-Rank 4-Star Quest, A Vow to Remain, requires you to slay eight Talioth, which will likely grant you a couple of Talioth Scales.
- And the Low-Rank 1-Star Quest, The Desert is Demanding, also requires you to slay eight Talioth.
This method is great for people who want to ensure they can easily find eight Talioth to kill and carve, but then on top of that, you'll have quest rewards to look forward to, which can include a 
Talioth Scale.
