There's more to No More Room in Hell 2 than just fighting and running away from zombies. Players have a job to do, and part of that involves solving puzzles and fixing whatever is in need of repair. Occasionally, you'll have to restore power to an area, and that usually means finding and fixing a junction box.

Junction boxes are one of the side objectives that players will often need to fix, and depending on the situation, you're going to need the help of other players in No More Room in Hell 2 if you want to get it up and running again. Fixing one is a little confusing at first, so here's a quick guide to help you out.

In an interview with The Best War Games, No More Room in Hell 2 director Leif Walter talks about the game's roadmap plans, planned zombie types, and more.

How to Rewire Junction Boxes in NMRIH 2

The goal here is to match wires. You do this by clicking on one of the wires from the left side of the box to whatever socket it matches in the middle, so if you see 1a on the left, look for another 1a on the right, then plug the wire into the appropriate socket. The wire names are going to be scrambled, which means you'll likely have to criss-cross some connections.

Not all wires have matches, and if you think everything's connected to the right sockets, click on the breaker switch on the lower right of the box, and power to the area will be restored. You'll be able to proceed with the rest of the area objectives, and depending on where you are, you might even unlock rooms full of weapons and supplies. You'll be completely defenseless while rewiring, so make sure to have a friend watch over you.

Location-Specific Tips

In some cases, pulling the breaker switch might start some unwanted events. For example, powering up the bar at the Power Plant map will also kickstart some very loud music, potentially attracting a lot of unwanted attention. In situations like this, it's best to just loot everything quickly and run away before a horde arrives.

If you end up having to go to the Trainyard, you might want to keep a bunch of explosives handy. You can easily get overrun by zombies here, especially if you use your guns, so having some grenades or IEDs can give you some room to fix the junction box under the Trainyard.

Do your best to rewire quickly or protect whoever's fixing junction boxes. Character progression is reserved for players who can extract from the mission, and if you want to unlock new skills in NMRIH 2, you need to do everything you can to survive.
