Sigil Shards are one of the currencies players can get during Episode: Heresy of Destiny 2. They're used to focus seasonal gear from the Tome of Want, and they're needed to upgrade your Runic Enhancements too.

Players should be able to get Sigil Shards as they play through Episode: Heresy normally, but if you're confused as to where these materials drop (or if you want to get those Episode: Heresy weapons), here's a quick guide going over where you can quickly farm Sigil Shards as well as what to do with them.

Farming Sigil Stones in Destiny 2 Episode Heresy

Destiny 2 Sigil Stone

Sigil Shards can be obtained through a variety of ways, but if you want to get as many as possible in a short amount of time, your best bet is to fight enemies and destroy Sigil Stones. As usual, one of the best places for farming large numbers of enemies is Sorrow's Harbor in the Moon. Weapons with strong AoE damage (such as Trinity Ghoul) are great for this activity.

During Episode: Heresy, if you're following the Path of Resolve at the Shaping Slab or Nether Hive Terminal, you'll be able to shoot Sigil Stones and gain Sigil Shards from them. Any enemy can drop Sigil Stones, so you're free to visit other areas outside the Nether.

As mentioned above, you can go to Sorrow's Harbor while the Altars of Sorrow event is active if you just want to casually farm Sigil Shards. Just defeat as many enemies as possible, then shoot the black Sigil Stones on the ground. Repeat this until you get all the Shards you need.

This method used to yield ludicrous amounts of Sigil Shards, but it has since been patched. Still, farming mob-dense areas is still a decent and low-stress way to get Sigil Shards.

Best Sigil Shard Farm

Destiny 2 Nether Chest

If you want a change of scenery, or if Altars of Sorrow isn't dropping as many Sigil Shards as you'd like, you can try The Nether instead. Not only do Nether runs spawn plenty of enemies, but you can also get Sigil Shards from other sources, such as chests and material nodes. You'll need the Prosperity Rune if you want to get shards from the latter, though.

When you're in the Nether, just run around and open every chest/touch every spiky ball you see. Keep in mind that passive health regeneration is disabled, but your total health and shields are increased massively. Healing effects from Aspects, Fragments, and Exotic equipment still apply, but at a significantly reduced rate. We recommend bringing at least some form of healing or a similar effect like Void Overshields when exploring the Nether.

Also, make sure to equip a Combo Detector mod for your Ghost. This will automatically mark all nearby chests and resource nodes on your map.

You can further increase the amount of Sigil Shards you earn by wearing a full set of seasonal armor that has the Overflowing Corruption perk.
