In Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, players will be stepping into the shoes of Phyre, a self-named, centuries-old Elder Vampire who is also known as The Nomad in vampire society. Phyre is fully voiced, and they come with preset appearances based on their body type, but despite that, players can still customize their character to a certain degree.
You'll be seeing Phyre's face a lot as you play through Bloodlines 2,and if parts of their look doesn't sit right with you, there's always an option to change some parts of their appearance. Here's how you can do that.

How to Edit Appearance in Bloodlines 2
While VTMB2 doesn't have a character creation feature, it still offers players the ability to change parts of Phyre's look, including their hair, eyes, and outfit. To do so, enter the pause menu with Escape/Start, then switch to the Appearance tab. Here, you'll see all of your unlocked cosmetics. You should be able to access this menu after finishing the tutorial.
The good thing about this is that you can change your appearance at any time and for absolutely no cost, letting you play as Seattle's best-looking monster. All hairstyles, piercings, facial features, and eye styles are unlocked by default, but as for the outfits, you'll need to do a bit more work.
Outfits in Bloodlines 2 are locked behind your personal progression toward each of the clan's skill lines. For example, if you unlock a Toreador skill, you will get one of the Toreador-themed outfits. Like the other cosmetics, you can change your outfits at any time and from anywhere. However, these have a much stronger impact on how the world perceives Phyre.
Generally speaking, wearing an outfit that fits a certain district of Seattle will affect how the people in that district interact with you. For example, if you're hanging around Brujah territory while wearing a fancy suit and tie, civilians and vampires alike might shun you for being pretentious. Meanwhile, if you wear Toreador clothes to the Atrium nightclub, the folks there might be more willing to speak with you.
Outfits also have an effect on Blood Resonance, a mechanic that lets you extract resonant blood from ordinary people. Usually, you'll see civilians with red, blue, or pink icons above their heads — these people carry resonant blood that lets you unlock more abilities in VTMB2. You can also get resonant blood from people who glow red, blue, or pink when you use Heightened Senses, and you can awaken their resonant blood based on how you interact with them:
- Antagonize people glowing red to make them Choleric (red blood)
- Seduce people glowing pink to make them Sanguine (pink blood)
- Intimidate people glowing blue to make them Melancholic (blue blood)
The type of clothes you wear can affect your chances of awakening resonant blood within a human. Be sure to dress properly to get the desired effect.
