Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree builds upon the world that the actual game built, widening the lore and adding an incredible amount of content for players to explore and enjoy. One of the defining, and perhaps the most important part, of a FromSoftware game is the boss fights. So, it's no surprise that players have gotten the treat of a whole lot of more seemingly unbeatable bosses.

Where to Find Jori, the Elder Inquisitor in Shadow of the Erdtree
Jori is the final boss fight for a dungeon, the Darklight Catacombs. This dungeon is unique in the sense that players need to beat it to proceed to the Abyssal Woods and fight Midra, the Lord of Frenzied Flame.

To reach him, take the hidden ladder leading down from Shadow Keep's East courtyard, go through the entrance hidden behind a waterfall, go through the fake wall, and take the coffin down to the Castle Watering Hole site of grace. From there, follow the path south to reach the Darklight Catacombs. Go through the area, and you'll reach the Jori boss fight at the end of the dungeon.
How to Beat Jori, the Elder Inquisitor in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Jori is a boss that can be easily staggered. Just as importantly, he can be backstabbed when the player gets behind him, dealing massive damage. The strategy for beating this boss is simple. Get behind him as often as possible for a backstab critical hit, and stagger him whenever possible using jump or charged attacks.

Defensive: The Golden Braid Talisman is a great option for this boss since it negates Holy Damage by 22%. Considering most of the boss' moveset consists of FAI-based holy spells, it's a safe bet to equip this talisman. If required, the
Opaline Hardtear
can be used in the Mixed Physik for an even bigger buff for defense. Combined with the Pearldake Talisman +3 and some good armor, the player can become an unstoppable tank in front of this boss.

Offensive: The two main Talismans that will boost your damage the most are the
Dagger Talisman
to boost backstabs and the
Axe Talisman
or
Claw Talisman
to enhance charged and jump attacks, respectively. The goal of these talismans is to break the poise of the boss as soon as possible, letting you riposte him for ridiculous damage. The
Stonebarb Cracked Tear
is a great option to stagger the boss even more often.
- Supplementary: The Two-Headed Turtle Talisman is a great option to regenerate your stamina no matter what build you're running.
- Weapon: Any large weapon that deals a lot of poise damage is a good bet against this boss. The specific damage types don't matter too much since the main damage-dealing method will be Reposte and backstabs.
Jori's Moveset

Ranged Attacks: Jori can attack using a barrage of
Golden Arcs, a Giant Golden Arc, and an attack that fires three small golden arcs in a conical pattern. Alternatively, he can try to overwhelm the player with the constant attack of
Spira, a holy spell that attacks the player from below. The constant attacks can be easily dodged by running diagonally, while the Giant Golden Arc and the three Golden Arcs can be dodged quite easily.
The gravestones in the arena can be used to block ranged attacks from the boss.
- Melee Attacks: Jori's melee attacks are laughably telegraphed and don't pose a threat at all. As long as you're not in Heavy Load, you can easily dodge into all of his swings. Try to get behind him while he's swinging to backstab him.
- Summons: Jori summons three different types of enemies to fight you at different times. However, they have a fairly small health pool, requiring 2–3 swings of a fully upgraded Greatsword to kill. If you're having trouble with their number, consider summoning your own Spirit Ashes to occupy them while you focus on the actual boss.
Jori, the Elder Inquisitor Boss Rewards
Jori isn't a Remembrance boss, meaning you won't get a Remembrance from beating him, nor will you be able to get his armor from the Finger Reader. However, once you beat the Elder Inquisitor, he will drop his weapon, the 
Barbed Staff-Spear. Moreover, you will receive 260,000 Runes for the fight.

The Barbed Staff-Spear is a Great Spear that deals 86 Physical and 86 Holy. It can be upgraded to +10 with Somber Smithing Stones. It weighs 7.5 and causes 55 bleed buildup.
Thrust the greatstaff into the air, firing off a succession of golden barb-like arcs. Holding the button down extends the barrage for a short duration.
The Ash of War of the weapon is called Jori's Inquisition, and it cannot be swapped. The Ash of War costs 9 FP and can be held to keep firing a barrage of golden arcs. These deal Holy damage and are one of the best ways to deal Holy damage at range.
