Now, a gamer called thedeafmutespeaks made an incredible discovery, a hidden location in Horizon Zero Dawn that remained unknown to most players. According to thedeafmutespeaks, they were watching a YouTube video of hidden locations in the game when they spotted a weird whirlpool in the eastern area of Devil’s Grief, and decided to visit the location for themselves, taking a picture of the whirlpool as a “souvenir.” To reach the location, gamers need to visit Devil’s Grief, one of the most breathtaking locations in Horizon Zero Dawn with beautiful vistas. Instead of climbing tall buildings, however, they need to move towards islands located in the eastern part of the region, and then use Photo Mode while elevating their camera height and facing east to discover the whirlpool.

Where to Find Horizon Zero Dawn's Mysterious Whirlpool?

  • Go to the Devil's Grief area.
  • Stand on one of the two islands marked in the image below in the extreme east of the location.
  • Use Photo Mode to look east, and search for an irregularity in the water.

The location is impossible to reach, however, as the game prevents the player from swimming towards it, and enemies such as Snapmaws can be found in the water. Unfortunately, the developers of Horizon Zero Dawn never actually revealed the purpose of this whirlpool, so it remains to be seen whether it was just an Easter egg or something that was planned by the developers and never saw the light of day.
