Summary

  • Horizon Forbidden West introduces three new tribes - the Utaru, Quen, and Tenakth - each with their own customs and unique characteristics.
  • The Tenakth tribe, divided into three smaller clans - Sky, Lowland, and Desert - stands out as a major presence in the Forbidden West, known for their strength and bravery.
  • In the upcoming Horizon multiplayer game, players might be able to choose a starting clan from among the Tenakth to get unique rewards, missions, and perspectives on the world.

Expanding upon the Nora, the Carja and the Oseram tribes, Horizon Forbidden West catapults players into a rather expansive, lush landscape with even more formidable presences unseen and greater challenges to behold. Horizon Forbidden West introduced the peaceful Utaru, the knowledge-seeking Quen and the powerful Tenakth, each serving as a unique yet complex addition to the great land and lore prevalent in the second installment of Horizon. With their respective customs, cultures and appearances, tribes have become a staple in the series that ties in with a sense of belonging to every character the player meets along their journey.

However, with a confirmed Horizon multiplayer game in the works, theories and speculations have started to arise on what players might be able to do or be when the game does come out. The Tenakth seem to stand out as they are the most common tribe that Aloy encounters when braving the Forbidden West, as they are particularly large and are split into three smaller clans - Sky, Lowland and Desert. Located in totally different areas with unique color schemes and values, the overarching similarities between them remain - their strength and bravery.

Potential Tenakth Options In Horizon's Upcoming Multiplayer Game

While no particular details have been confirmed, other than the fact that the multiplayer game is in production, some factors are likely to be included. Players might be choose a starting tribe, for instance. The history of the Tenakth runs deep, with the rich culture and traditions of each clan setting up possible missions that players could undergo upon picking their clan. For example, the Sky Clan resides in the snowy, mountainous terrain, setting the stage for their initiation ritual called The March of the Ten. Players would have to climb a specific mountainside located to the west of the Bulwark and retrieve the Blood Crest flower from the summit either alone or with a partner.

As for the Lowland Clan, the jungle is their home and known territory - hence their stealth skills and specialization in tricks and traps. In the Valley of the Fallen they face a test of pure endurance. The Lowlanders must set out to the valley and survive for a total of ten days and nights. If successful, their skin is branded with ink reflecting on their success. These possible missions and rewards mean the Tenakth could have a highly memorable starting point. However, while the leader of the Tenakth tribe is Chief Hekarro, each clan is quite different, presenting many different choices.

Possible Features, Loadouts and More

  • Unique gear inspired by Tenakth territories
  • Special abilities unique to each clan
  • Tenakth bases
  • Face paints

Potentially being able to pick a clan extends beyond missions and traditions. As each clan resides in vastly different environments, from snowy mountains to foreign jungles and desert lands, features such as gear, abilities and bases could greatly differ, too. The Tenakth introduced some of the best armor and outfits in Horizon.

As the Lowland clan resides in the jungle, players opting for a stealth-based play style might benefit the most from choosing this clan. The Desert clan is renowned for its unmistakable aggression, making it an ideal choice for players seeking a more assertive and combative play style. As for the Sky Clan, their dedication to building defenses and strengthening their defensive abilities is clear through maintaining the barriers of the Bulwark. With a focus on stonework and architecture blended with colorful decor, the Sky Clan boasts some of the most visually stunning bases and gear dyes in the game.

The Tenakth clan in Horizon are powerful warriors and important allies. The division into three diverse clans offers a lot of material if players in the multiplayer game can immerse themselves in the Tenakth society they encountered in Horizon Forbidden West.
