Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's sequel to the hit action-adventure title, Horizon Zero Dawn, and has consistently proven over time to be one of the PS5's most impressive titles. Boasting awe-inspiring visuals and breathtaking environments, along with new and improved combat mechanics, weapons, and armor, Horizon Forbidden West has set a high bar for future titles of the genre and any potential sequels to come in the Horizon series. Before another mainline installment arrives, however, Horizon Forbidden West has one more move up its sleeve.
On March 21, 2024, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will come to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. This means that, unlike its predecessor—which had three gaps between its initial release and the launch of its PC port—Horizon Forbidden West is making the move a year earlier. This is great news for fans of the Horizon series and PC owners, even those who might have already completed the game on PS5.

Everything Included in Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition on PC
PlayStation has been making a habit lately of porting many of its exclusives over to PC, and thankfully, Horizon Forbidden West wasn't left out. Its predecessor, Horizon Zero Dawn, launched on PC in 2020 and was deemed even better than its original release. Hence, expectations are high that Forbidden West will be able to accomplish the same feat. The PC version of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will include everything that came with the PS5 version, except for a couple of pre-order bonuses and steam-link items:
- Carja Behemoth Elite Outfit and Short Bow
- Nora Thunder Elite Outfit and Sling
- Special pose and face paint for Photo Mode
- Apex Clawstrider Strike piece
- In-game resources pack
- Digital soundtrack
- Digital artbook
- The Sunhawk digital comic book
- Blacktide Dye Outfit (Pre-order only)
- Blacktide Sharpshot Bow (Pre-order only)
- Nora Legacy Outfit (Steam-link only)
- Nora Legacy Spear (Steam-link only)
Those who link their Steam account with their PlayStation Network account will receive the Nora Legacy Outfit and Nora Legacy Spear, both of which were originally available as pre-order bonuses for the base game's initial release. Blacktide Dye was a new outfit dye introduced in Forbidden West's DLC expansion, Burning Shores, and those who pre-order on PC will get it as a bonus. The PC version of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition includes several graphical and accessibility upgrades as well.
- Ultrawide 21:9 and Super Ultrawide 32:9 resolutions, and 48:9 triple monitor support
- NVIDIA DLSS 3 upscaling and frame generation
- Image enhancing NVIDIA DLAA
- Latency-reducing NVIDIA Reflex
- AMD FSR and Intel XeSS support
- Unlocked frame rates
- Haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality for the DualSense controller
The graphical upgrades alone will surely be enough to justify playing Horizon Forbidden West on PC, even for players who may have already finished the game on PS5. Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most visually impressive games in recent memory, and that will more than likely be an even greater reality on PC, especially for those who can take advantage of the Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide resolutions.
As Horizon Forbidden West is famous for making full use of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality, it's fortunate the PC port will have full support for that as well.
While it's currently unknown whether Horizon Forbidden West will make as big a splash on PC as Horizon Zero Dawn did, it is rather safe to assume as Guerrilla has already proven it is capable of successfully porting games to PC. Today, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition maintains a "Very Positive" rating on Steam and 4.8/5 stars on the Epic Games Store, so the hope is that Horizon Forbidden West will exceed performance expectations and garner positive reception as well.
