Honkai: Star Rail has revealed the upcoming 5-star character Yunli’s complete kit. Yunli is a Physical-type DPS following the path of Destruction. She is joining the Honkai: Star Rail playable roster on July 31 with the launch of Version 2.4.
After the end of the Penacony adventure, Honkai: Star Rail is moving forward into Version 2.4 by returning to the Xianzhou Luofu and a lot of exciting content. The update is debuting two 5-star characters, Yunli and Jiaoqiu, as well as March 7th's Imaginary Hunt form. While March 7th will be obtainable for free via the patch's main event, Yunli will be featured in Phase 1 banners along with Huohuo's rerun. The character will also star in Honkai: Star Rail's next adventure, "Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue: Part I," in which she and Janqing will join forces to train March 7th in swordmanship.

Honkai: Star Rail has possibly opened the door for a new feature after adding a functional TV in the Astral Express' passenger cabin.
HoYoverse has revealed Yunli's kit through a video on Honkai: Star Rail's official YouTube channel. Yunli is a Physical-type under the path of Destruction who serves as a DPS, and her damage relies heavily on her Talent, which lets her perform powerful counterattacks. Yunli's Ultimate allows her to enter a "Parry" state, which taunts all enemies and makes Yunli carry out even stronger counterattacks scaling off of her Attack stats.
To make the most out of Yunli's kit, players must ensure Yunli is attacked in combat because the more attacks she receives, the more times Yunli strikes back at enemies. Players must keep in mind that her Parry state only lasts until the next unit's turn ends, so it is important to use her Ultimate just before an enemy's turn instead of before an ally's turn. This way, Yunli can deal the most damage with her "Intuit: Cull" hit. Yunli's kit is a very complex one, but she may easily become one of Honkai: Star Rail's best Physical characters.
Honkai: Star Rail Yunli's Kit Explained
- Basic Attack: Galespin Summersault - Applies physical DMG to a single enemy.
- Talent: Flashforge - When Yunli receives an attack, she immediately performs a Counterattack on the enemy, dealing physical DMG to it and its adjacent targets. She also regenerates Energy.
- Trace: Demon Quell - When under Parry State, Yunli reduces incoming DMG by a certain percentage and resists Crowd Control debuffs.
- Technique: Posterior Precedence - Yunli gains "Ward" for a certain duration. If she either attacks or is attacked by an enemy, she will enter combat and immediately perform Intuit: Cull on a random target.
- Skill: Bladeborne Quake - Restores a certain amount of HP and deals physical DMG to a single enemy and its adjacent targets.

Ultimate: Earthbind, Etherbreak - Consumes a certain amount Energy, and Yunli enters a "Parry" State. She taunts all enemies and increases the Crit DMG of her next Counter. Parry lasts until the end of the next enemy or ally's turn. When her Talent is triggered under Parry state, depending on the circumstances, Yunli's next Counterattack will become either "Intuit: Slash" or "Intuit: Cull" attacks, with the latter dealing the most DMG.
- Intuit: Slash - Occurs when Yunli is not attacked until the end of Parry. Deals physical DMG to the target enemy and adjacent targets.
- Intuit: Cull - Occurs when Yunli receives an attack during Parry. Deals physical DMG to the target enemy and adjacent targets. Then deals multiple additional physical hits, each landing on a random single enemy. This action then dispels Parry.
According to Honkai: Star Rail, Yunli is a skilled swordmaster born into a renowned Xianzhou family of swordsmiths. Although she is young, Yunli carries a tragic past. Players can find out more of her story in her Companion Mission "Swords to Plowshares," which will be released in Version 2.4. Yunli and her signature Light Cone will feature in Honkai: Star Rail's next banner, which will run from July 31 to August 21.
Aside from Yunli, Honkai: Star Rail is introducing multiple Xianzhou Luofu characters in the next patches, such as Jiaoqiu, Feixiao, and Lingsha. However, HoYoverse recently faced some backlash regarding its casting choice for Honkai: Star Rail's character Moze. The voice actor has since stepped down from the role after the criticism, but whether this will affect the success of Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4 remains to be seen.
