HoYoverse is in the process of fixing a bug in Honkai: Star Rail. The developer has been open about the issues within Honkai: Star Rail and when players can expect a fix.
The issue in question was spotted in Simulated Universe's Swarm Disaster. The mode was released in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3 as a way to expand Aeon Tazzyronth's lore and introduce new Propagation Blessings. Players have to go explore various planes to fight enemies and participate in Adventure challenges for additional items. The latter includes Trotter Catch, where players have to chase and eliminate Warp Trotters before time runs out, or before they disappear.
Apparently, Trotter Catch has a bug where Warp Trotters don't flee when Topaz shoots at them. As avid Honkai: Star Rail players know, the five-star character's passive ability is that her pet companion Numby can track down nearby Warp Trotters. Likewise, these creatures won't run away once Numby interacts with them, making it easier to attack them. This ability also works in Trotter Catch, but HoYoverse stated in an in-game notice that it's actively fixing the issue of the Trotters not fleeing when Topaz attacks them. The developer said this will be resolved once Version 1.6 launches around December.
Over on the Honkai: Star Rail subreddit, many players are anticipating a Topaz and Numby nerf in Version 1.6. They also encouraged other players to spam the duo in Simulated Universe's Swarm Disaster to get the most out of the Trotter Catch before HoYoverse patches the game. Meanwhile, there were conflicting opinions about the upcoming bug fix. Some said that it was a necessary fix because Topaz would get an unfair advantage in Trotter Catch, while others thought the nerf was unnecessary.
While it's adorable and entertaining to watch Topaz and Numby work together to eliminate Warp Trotters in random locations, they do it make it too easy for players to accomplish Trotter Catch. In fact, HoYoverse doesn't need to nerf Topaz's entire kit; it just needs to adjust the Warp Trotters' behaviors in the Adventure challenge. Once they're able to run away, it will be fair game for the dynamic duo.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.6 is roughly more than a month away, but HoYoverse already revealed the Warp Banner lineup. The five-star characters are Ruan Mei (Ice, Harmony) and Dr. Ratio (Imaginary, The Hunt), while the four-star character is Xueyi (Quantum, Destruction).
